“What was I charged extra for?”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

My mother works at a Hilton hotel, so she got a room at the hilton garden inn. So I used my card because hers had an issue. The charge said 44.07. It was for one night but when I check my bank statement. It says 50.68. What was I charges for was there a fee I had to pay?

Above and beyond my expectations. I honestly can't say enough about this hotel. The room and facilities were immaculate, the housekeeping staff prompt and the valets were spot on. The staff and service was excellent. I had no problems whatsoever and any questions or issues I had were answered in an immediate and extremely friendly manner. Staff was continually asking throughout the day if everything was okay and if anything was needed. Great breakfast buffet and business lounge. Located in a great central area within walking distance to almost all of the sights to see.

We (two adults and one 4 year old) recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor during the Baltimore Grand Prix weekend (we didn't know that ahead of time, we were there for the aquarium). The hotel was everything we needed for our brief stay.

The staff was very friendly and courteous. Check-In was very brief and easy.

The room itself was very clean, though a little on the small side (two queen sized beds). Though not so small that we felt uncomfortable.

They don't offer any kind of free breakfast that we could find (which would be nice), but they do have a paid breakfast buffet that we did not visit.

The location of the hotel is great. While not located smack dab in the middle of the Inner Harbor, it is close enough that the walk is not bad at all. The surrounding area seems nice with lots of different restaurant choices.

Considering that this hotel was the least expensive available in the area for that weekend, I was definitely impressed by the value and would recommend it to friends.

If you want the HGI brand in a great location, this is the place. Although not on the water, its one block off and within easy walking distance to the inner harbor. There is a wonderful walking/running path along the water going away from the harbor where you will find local restaurants as well - not so many tourist and tourist prices!! There is great shopping in the area as well. We felt very safe in and around this hotel. Our room was on the corner and had great windows but tight on floor space. It was very clean and a great bed. We will definitely stay there again.

Excellent choice! Within walking distance of Inner Harbor or the Baltimore free tourist bus is available out front. Good location. Is also next to the Baltimore Lite Rail system. Biggest problem is this review requires 200 characters to accept your evaluation.

First of all, please note that the Homewood Suites and the Garden Inn, both Hilton properties, share the same lobby and building. the Homewood Suites has its own elevators and is the quieter and nicer property.

We stayed at the Garden Inn, and found it to be very nice. There are no suites, however. We stayed on the 8th floor, which we then found to be only 2 floors above the ground level when we looked out the back. That turned out to be because of a huge park like area elevated far above street level. The little park was space enough to run your dog and also get some nice views.

The beds were 2 doubles - no queens. The bathroom was clean and not moldy. The internet was fast. The breakfast is NOT included, but was very good. The parking is in a city type parking structure and was the usual expensive city parking. The location of the hotel was right on the western edge of Little Italy and the eastern edge of the Inner Harbor, so a nice spot. I did think the Marriott next door had a slightly better location.

Our AC the first night ran continuously and froze the room (in the summer) to 62 degrees, despite the thermostat being at 78. I eventually turned it off. We told the front desk, and I guess they just shut it off, because the next night it didn't cool down at all. I think because it was a holiday weekend they had no one to fix it, but that was a poor fix.

One interesting plus was that the hotel connects to a private gym via a hallway on the second floor. We used the gym and the pool. It was complimentary and hassle free. the pool was heated and the kids had a nice time in it. the gym was well maintained and huge. this is a definite perk that both Homewood and Garden inn have access to.

Another oddity was a library on the second floor, which was basically a quiet large room to read. The books that were on the shelves were random no name books for show, so I guess it is more of a quiet nook.

One thing I found strange was that the 2 properties, though they shared a lobby and a parent company and pretty much everything else, had 2 separate front desk staffs. I'm not sure why that was, but it wasn't really an issue.

Very happy with our brief stay here. Clean, comfortable room at reasonable price. Very friendly, helpful front desk. Good location for Inner Harbor, Little Italy, and Johns Hopkins. Very good breakfast. A well-run hotel, and we will stay here again.
