“Now this is an Outstanding Museum”

One could spend hours in this museum and still have things not seen. What a collection. I had an excellent docent who gave my small group of eight an overview of the entire museum. The collection of Sevres porcelain rivals those in France. The current Egyptian exhibit is fascinating and is definitely worth a visit. The Walters family truly give a huge gift to the citizens of Baltimore. Enjoy your visits

“Wonderful museum!”

This is a lovely museum! The special exhibition of Jacob Lawrence's Genesis Series was excellent. A wonderful guide took us on a tour of this exhibit. We also visited some of the permanent collection. Definitely worth a visit!

“A museum that informs and inspires”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

I always enjoy going to The Walters; the featured exhibits are always really good, as is the 'regular' collection. Go on the first Thursday of the month to see the main exhibits, and spend some time in the rotunda where they have live music and a cash bar. I find this is a great place to relax and take a time out from the normally fast pace of our lives.

“Old Masters at their best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

This museum have some wonderful pieces. As you wander the galleries you can become transfixed. From the amazing displays of mummies to the wonder of Japanese ceramics in the Hackerman House. The museum has enough paintings, stained glass, med-evil weapons, and fine jewelry to keep you interested.
Located in the lovely, Mount Vernon section of Baltimore. It should be on everyone to do list.
