The Walters Art Gallery has something for visitors of every age and taste. Getting around inside can be a little confusing as getting from one area to another sometimes requires going up and down. This museum is more than just paintings. It has statues, armor, pottery, butterflies, swords, antique pistols and hundreds of other objects.
Inexpensive parking is nearby as well as reasonable restaurants. Some food and beverages are available in the snack bar on the lowest floor.
The volunteer guides are very helpful and friendly.

If you only have time for one museum in Baltimore, make it the spectacular and centrally located Walters. Regardless of one’s level of art knowledge, this museum, which boasts a very large and important collection of non-contemporary art, is thoroughly enjoyable and educational. The architectural spaces in which the art is displayed is as impressive as the works of art themselves. Plan on spending two very enjoyable hours in The Walters, which is admission free.

We spent a very relaxing morning at the Walters and enjoyed the varied collection. Saw 2 Monets and a few other Impressionists' works.

The Walters Art Museum has very exquisite collections of Medieval art and Asian art. The Asian art collection has very fine pottery, jade, pieces mostly from the 18th Century. Plan to visit museum again to spend time on the Medieval art collection because we did not have time this visit.
