“Not really for cemetery nuts”
Reviewed 19 October 2012

Just so you know, Westminster Hall is not a church anymore. It's a hall that you can rent for weddings and events. We were only able to see it, because a nice gentlemen was preparing it for a wedding later in the day, and he let us peek inside. Nice, but not a site for tourists. The burying grounds are small, and you likely would need a tour guide to make it really interesting. Of course, the highlight is Edgar Allen Poe's grave (and possibly the monument at the entrance). If you are interested in US history, there are also some military figures associated with Baltimore there.

We weren't really impressed overall, having been to many cemeteries in our travels, but I must confess that our experience was a bit colored by the nature of the cemetery. Situated as it is in the middle of downtown, we had to be careful of the two men hiding in the cemetery behind the hall doing drugs. We also sidestepped the guy at the Poe monument who was taking the coins people left there. This was in the middle of the day, by the way. Urban and gritty has its place, but most cemetery aficionados aren't usually seeking that experience in the cemeteries themselves.

Edgar Allen Poe is buried here. Need I say more? (apparently so - since reviews must contain 50 characters)

“My visit and tour by Vince Wilson, March 20, 2010”
Reviewed 21 March 2010

What an interesting place! So full of history and legends. Vince Wilson is extremely knowledgeable about Baltimore’s history and he made it real exciting. It is a great place to take a tour, no matter who your guide is, if you like history and Edgar Allen Poe, it is all fascinating.

“Church Catacombs”
Reviewed 20 October 2009

We found this attraction had the same issue allot of other attractions had in Baltimore in that it is only open limited hours/days. They offer a tour of the catacombs "occasionally."
The tour wasn't available during our visit.

“wedding reception and tour of cemetery”
Reviewed 17 July 2009

I went to a wedding at this converted church it was real nice inside. The hugh pipe organ still intaked., stain glass window. If you were there by a certain time you had a short tour of the cemetery and some local history.
If I knew someone going to Baltimore I would tell them about the cemetery. I would not go there just to see the cemetery. Inner Harbor was a nice place to visit,
