A few friends and I traveled to the Tavern at the Admiral and absolutely had a blast! The people there were very knowledgeable and the hotel manager was a truly nice guy. The bartender, Steve, made us a few of his specialties and let me tell you. His drinks were absolutely on point and they tasted amazing! I would recommend this place for a casual drink, a night at the bar, or just a stop by to say hi!

This is a historic hotel, built out of several buildings. So if you are looking for the most modern amenities, this is not it. Interesting historical plaques throughout the hotel, and each room is named in honor of a historical figure. Hallways are a bit narrow, which you would expect in a historic building. Floors are a bit uneven as well, but it added to the charm of the hotel. Our room had 2 double canopy beds with nice linens, although I would agree they are starting to look tired. The room was well appointed with furnishings. The bathroom was small and adequate. Both our room and bath were clean. Even though we had a room that was on the "not noisy" side, this hotel is located right in the middle of lively Fell's Point and there was noise (car horns, shouting and laughter etc..) from the outside, until ~2:00am. Parking is by valet and it can take some time to retrieve your car. Every staff member we met was helpful, cheerful and polite - very eager to assist in any way. Brunch on Saturday was very, very nice - made-to-order omelets, waffles, bacon/sausages, fruit, pastries. Breakfast on Friday was more continental, but still very nice. We received a good rate, plus free brunch/breakfast through Johns Hopkins and it was a straight shot up Broadway to the Orleans Garage (no more than 10 minutes with traffic). Lots of good places to eat dinner near the hotel and within walking distance. This would be a fun place to stay (as well as a great location) if I were coming back to enjoy all of the Fells Point attractions.

Room Tip: There is a "more quiet" side to the hotel which is nice if you have older people with you...

My husband and I had visited the harbor years ago and fell in love with the Fells Point area. When we found ourselves going back, I did a little research and ended up booking Admiral Fell Inn. GREAT choice! We were there very early on a Sunday morning and the front desk gladly checked our bags for us so we could explore. We walked everywhere with no problem as the location is just perfect. Lots of bars, restaurants, pubs and things to do within blocks. Our room was very clean and well laid out. The lobby, very nicely decorated. The staff extremely helpful and friendly. Hakeem was especially kind and helpful, and what a smile. When we find ourselves in Baltimore again - for whatever reason - we will be staying at the Admiral Fell Inn. For us... it was perfection! Our thanks to the great staff!

Room was great had a small balcony off of our room and could see up and down Thames St. Hotel has tremendous charm and is truly historic experience, each room is named for a person in Baltimore history and has a brief description of what they did. Staff is very nice and there for anything you need. There is a daily service fee attached to the room but between the shuttle service 24/hour text concierge and other amenities the fee is understandable. I had a great over all experience and would recommend the Admiral Fell to anyone looking to get away for a weekend full of fun.

We brought a group here and rented 5 rooms. The location is PERFECT, but the hotel itself is very tired. Admittedly we didn't give the staff an opportunity to correct this issue, but I don't think I will rush back given the steep price of a tired room.
Walking down the hall to our room, it smelled like a flooded street, not a good first impression.
Our shower was not operating properly and we had to take baths. The room we had on the first floor had windows that were right on a dining courtyard. Thankfully, we didn't get back to our room from our own dinner until after the dining room closed, but it was really weird seeing people dining literally right up against our bedroom window when we first entered the room.
The bathroom was extremely tired, the pedestal sink was located up on a step so it was almost too high off the ground. There was a very small shelf above the sink, but no real good vanity space.
Bed was so-so, the mattress pad was all crumpled up and made for a less than stellar night sleep. We only spent one night, so complaining didn't seem worth it.
It's full of character, but also full of imperfections with regard to the room amenities.
For us, the convenience of being right in Fell's Point made us choose the hotel. It is a great location if you are going to just walk to dinner and anywhere else in Fell's Point.

Room Tip: Have a look at your room and make sure everything works properly before you settle in!

Came to Baltimore on a business trip and had the pleasure of spending a couple nights at Admiral Fell. The location was perfect, on the water and lots of restaurants and cute shops. The hotel is historic and charming, the staff was gracious, my hotel room was decorated beautifully! Definitely a welcome change from the usually boring bland hotels attached to most work trips. I can't wait to come back on a non-work related trip and really enjoy all that the hotel and area have to offer.

Upon arrival, I waited a few minutes for someone to appear at the desk. The man had a middle-eastern name, and his English was lacking. Upon checking in, I asked why I was being charged an additional $9.95 for "services," that included a gym which I wouldn't use. He couldn't explain why.
My room was 225, nicely appointed. However, they never mentioned my room was above a nightclub where the bass was so loud I could hear it throbbing through the four-poster bed. I called to complain at 10:30 PM and was told there was no other room available. I called again at 12:30 AM to complain, and now there WAS a room available. How could that be? By this time, the music was so loud, dogs were barking in adjacent rooms.
I was moved to the third floor on the other side of the hotel, and all was fine for the 2nd and 3rd nights. The hotel comped me for a full breakfast which was nice. What I needed was a drink!
While my room was clean enough, the hallways, which are quite narrow due to the age of the historic building, are rather groady. The hallways need fresh decorating.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side, residential street are quiet, NOT on the side, commercial street.
