“Good Location, great customer service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

Recently stayed here this July. I would reccomend this hotel for couples only. The rooms are small but very nice. The location is great. walking distance to food, shops, water taxi, pubs and great night life. The price of the room was very affordable. We were also able to walk to the City's core very easily.

Room Tip: check photos online of the rooms. Some are not bigger than a closet.

I stayed here this past weekend (mid July) for several nights. My husband checked in on Wednesday and I joined him on Thursday. There are 2 reviews to discussed here. One is on the overall stay, the other is how an issue we had was left unaddressed.

Overall, the hotel is ok. I'd rate it a solid 2 or 3. The location is awesome. Because of this, they don't seem to believe they need wow anywhere else. The rooms are fine; it's a historic hotel with some cheap upgrades (laminate floors, etc.), but again, it's fine. You're not spending a lot of time in the room anyway. I had to work from the room on Friday. The desk chairs are terrible and aren't the right height (even with adjustment). The breakfast is terrible, so go someplace else. They contract with an upscale fitness club down the street, which was cool. It's loud, so bring some earplugs. We had a room that faced Thames, which was a great view but made sleeping through thirsty Thursday kind of rough.

Ok, now on to their lack of service. We went out and about all day Saturday. Our door was open. Left open by housekeeping, who had popped in late morning when we stopped back to use the bathroom about noon. So, all afternoon, from noon until 8pm when we returned, our door was open. As in not locked, slightly ajar. With all of our stuff, such as laptops, tablet, some jewelry, etc. There are no safes, so locking things up was not an option. However, you expect that your door will at least be locked. So, to recap, in downtown Baltimore, our hotel room door was left open for roughly 8 hours. I immediately called the front desk and asked to speak with a manager. The young lady let me know that there was no one on property at the time. I know they have a few hotels in the area, so I asked her to get me in touch with someone wherever they are. She took my cell number and indicated that she would have someone call me. I stopped by the desk on my way down to dinner and got her name, the GM's name and the AM's name. She mentioned (and I could see on her phone) that she had been texting them to inform them. 24 hours have passed and I have not heard from Mario or Michael. Apparently, they just don't care. At a minimum, they should know so that they can isolate the housekeeping staff that overlooked closing the door and address that. However, it would also be nice if this was acknowledged and apologized for. I would never stay here, or at any of the properties, based on the lack of response. A mediocre hotel with horrible service.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Thames and S Bond will be noisy at night

The Tavern at the Admiral was unbelievable. Drinks are unlike anything you have ever had. The general manager, Mario, was so kind and the bartenders Steve(s) were so knowledgable and attentive. The drinks had a creative and delicious twist and we will be back. Defiantly worth our trip!

The front desk staff distinguished this hotel. Even though we were there through three shift changes, everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms tend to be somewhat smaller here, though we paid for a larger room and were happy with it. It was spacious enough and thankfully faced inwards. Fells Point can get a bit rowdy at night but it was completely quiet in our room. We were at the far end of a hallway so maybe that contributed to the peace and quiet. The bathroom was spacious and the whirlpool was big enough for two. Valet parking was expensive (free in and out during the day) but what are you going to do in a crowded urban area? Free wifi. Recommended.

First of all, you can't beat the location or the price. This is an historic hotel (on the national register) so you need to be prepared for what comes with a building built over a hundred years ago.....thin walls and small bathrooms. Those are the only two things that we can say negative about a typical stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, the air conditioning went out one night during our stay; however, those type things have happened to us at larger, more costly hotels so we didn't let it ruin our other four nights at the Inn. The service was good with the front desk staff assisting us area information and transportation. The water taxi is literally steps outside the hotel so that is a first. If you want to be more in the downtown area, this is not the place for you. If you want to have a big night in Fell's Point, this is definitely the place to stay to walk to and from area restaurants and nightlife.

As you mentioned in your review, we are indeed a historic hotel. We continually strive to offer our patrons modern day amenities. We want to apologize about the air condition unit in your room. We've made sure to pass along all of this information to our engineering and management teams.

Disappointed. Great location in fells point. Close to everything and service was good from the checkin to valet ($34 a day). However, dont plan on sleeping at this hotel. Rooms and doors paper thin. Woke up twice by drunks coming to their room at 2:30 and 4:30. Woke up again at 6:30 by staff sliding receipt under door. Called to complain, did nothing. Breakfast for $30 was ridiculous... I wouldnt even upgrade it to calling it a Continental breakfast. All in all, I wont be staying again. Much better hotels available outside and inside fells point for far less. Do yourself a favor and get one outside baltimore and use Uber for transportation. Youll save money and have alot better sleep!

We went there for a walking tour and was greeted by a very cheerful bar tender by the name of Steve. He treated us just like family even though he had just met us. It was our 18 year wedding anniversary and he made our evening very special. We went on our tour around the various historical places in Fells Point and then returned there for a nightcap later. Steve provided us with even more history on Fells Point itself. The two signature drinks we had were the Black Eyed Susan Crush and a new drink I just am enthralled with called Admiral's Tankard. This second concoction is a combination that just works, topped with champagne. Overall, it was a fantastic night and I soon plan to stay the night there as a surprise to the Mrs. :)
