The shrine is a beautiful piece of artwork unto itself. It is truly worth exploring every inch of this place, as each area is different. The gift shop has religious gifts that are very unique and hard to find. Quite a gem!

This is a beautiful church. The guide was friendly and informative. Even our 2 young children enjoyed the tour.

This recommendation came from our breakfast waitress at The Four Seasons. I had asked her what she like doing/seeing in Baltimore that might be a bit out of the ordinary. "The Basilica" was her first choice. It was about a 30 minute walk from the hotel and well worth it. Regardless of your religious affiliation this is a must see. I was raised a Catholic so I might be somewhat biased but the cathedral is absolutely magnificent. Historically, it was the first metropolitan cathedral constructed after the adoption of The Constitution. You can get a tour or you can do a tour by yourself. My time was limited so I went by myself. Very easy, very self explanatory although when I go again I will take an official tour as I am sure that the guides can offer something extra.

Built by Benjamin Latrobe, it was certified as the first of its kind in the United States of America! A trend has began here . .

This isa place that you really need to visit once in your lifetime. It's very spiritual and beautiful to be in such a historic location. Give yourself time though as the lines get very long.
