“No frills, but clean and safe”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2011

I stayed in the hotel part of the conference center for two nights in October of 2011. The room decor reminded me of a college dorm with built in desks and shelves. The facility is definitely well-used, however, it was clean, safe, and quiet, which is what I needed. The location is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Baltimore, but is walkable from the light rail if you don't have a car. For food you can easily walk to the Mount Washington neighborhood, where there are restaurants and a grocery store. There was a breakfast in the morning, but I left too early both days to see what that entailed.

I would recommend to anyone who needs a no-frills, economical, but yet still safe stay in Baltimore.

This conference center is accessible, economical and the service was superb. The food was plentiful and the choices were vast. The beds and sheets were very nice and each room has a balcony. The grounds are beautiful and in a great area. Close to light rail and restaurants. Great gym and the snack stations throughout the property are always stocked and open 24 hours! The conference center has free-wifi throughout and in every room and a business center that doesn't charge for copies and computer time!!

Lovely facility but the staff was quite noisy during our business meeting, it was very distracting. At one point the staff started removing items from our room ... maybe in preparation for the next meeting?

Staying here could be a stunning experience but the service was bad, from a missed wake-up call to a receipt that was not itemized with taxes broken out (standard practice!)

Note to travelers: there is free high-speed internet but through an insecure connection.

The breakfast was simple but good. The property is nice. They have a game room with a pool table and ping pong table for those rainy nights like we had which was nice to have on that night. The beds were a little on the firm side, but not like a rock. The front deck personel were very nice and helpful. The light rail into downtown Baltimore was very easy. The gym was nice, but was told you needed to be 18 to go upstairs into the basketball part of the gym. In the same building as the gym is a cafeteria which has good for for a good price. As for the review before mine. You can go the any upscale hotel and if the people in the next room come back to their room late and are load you'll here it. It's not the hotels fault, it's simply the load people in the next room. Would recommend for the average person or family, but not the people that expect the Ritz Carlton!

Room Tip: Room 316 has two queen beds w/ nice view.

The Mt Washington Conference Center has a beautiful location on a lush hill, and very close to Rt 83, but the attention to fundamentals was lacking. We stayed for 2 nights and when we checked in immediately noticed the toilet was running-- how could they miss that noise?! There was a coffee machine in the room with no coffee-- what's up with that?!! We pointed out these things the next morning to housekeeping and left for the day. When we came back- Toilet still running and no coffee!! To make matters worse, they didnt provide a change of towels, or give us fresh (plastic) cups. Very sloppy. Room was a bit cramped and loud clanging noises in the middle of the night (both nights). On the plus side you get privileges at a nice fitness room one building away.

I attended a conference at the Mt. Washington Conference center and stayed in the rooms. This is a great place for a M-F conference when you want to focus on the conference. Mt. Washington Village is a short walk down hill and the light rale is also. But there are no child oriented activities on site other than a pool table and ping pong. The staff was fabulous - super accomodating to me as well as my family. The rooms are small but clean and have a little deck. Housekeeping stopped me in the hall twice to ask if my room was acceptable. Everyone was super friendly!! I would com back for a conference or short get away!!
