“Excellent Service”
Reviewed 18 June 2014 via mobile

Our upgraded room was not available and without thought they accommodated us to the Presidential Suite.

Beautiful view of Baltimore along the harbor. You can literally run out of the hotel and have a really nice jog along the harbor through a nice part of the town.

We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

Modern rooms as they should be at the Four Seasons but not impersonal or stark. The room was warm and luxurious, without being ostentatious. The bed was very comfortable with a good sized seating area and a wonderful bathroom. The pool area was terrific with an infinity pool overlooking the Baltimore waterfront. Enjoyed cocktails out there on a beautiful day. Had several wonderful meals at Wit & Wisdom with terrific service. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the Inner Harbor, the Aquarium and Federal Hill as well as being a short stroll from Fells Point and all the bars and shops. Will definitely be returning!

I hate to give a Four Seasons an average review but as nice as is it is, it is in my opinion on the average side. Nothing was really bad or upsetting it just has some quirks that should be addressed.

Let's start with the positive;
-Great location
-Beautiful exterior
-Lobby is pretty
-Doormen/Valet and Reception desk staff are excellent.
-Beds are comfortable and overall room is clean.
-Staff at Pool and Pool Bar restaurant are wonderful
-Pool and gym are both very nice and the view is lovely from the pool area.
-Restrooms through out property were very clean
-Finish on walls before you enter your room is beautiful, great texture and sparkle to it.
-Nice robes and slippers as you would expect at a Four Seasons Hotel
-Breakfast at restaurant was good
-Concierge was very helpful and went out of the way to make suggestions.

Quirks or less positive things;
-Rooms are minimalistic in style, a little boring. Ours faced an office building. I had to, at minimum, keep the sheers closed to not feel like I was in a fish bowl for everyone to view me while I was in our room.
-Curtains, not exactly room darkening. They had gaps and the light coming in was annoying when I wanted to sleep in.
-Shower/toilet area had a strong mildew smell (#1420 did anyway)
-Mini bar was missing many of the selections that were listed on the menu card
-Restaurant/Bar area on the main level; It smells amazing but we had a late night snack and I have to say it was lack luster. The popcorn was good but for $9 it better be and I expected a better presentation than just in a white bowl. The tuna was nice in flavor but came with really thick toast points which took over every bite. However, you needed the toast because the dish was on the very small side...a matter of fact, even with bread and the tuna, one half of the plate was completely empty.
-The bar; The outside patio is lovely and the weather was great last night but there was no one to serve us. You had to go inside to the bar to order drinks. It seems that, although during the week, they should have cocktail servers for this area at night. What a wasted opportunity for a little class and comfort in such a lovely setting on the harbor.
-We moved indoors later for our snack and one last glass of wine. While sitting there it was apparent that the bar really drew an eclectic mix of people from the area. Something felt odd. We even witnessed a couple of girls, who my husband thought might be call girls but then over heard they were actually trying to sell some vacation/travel concept to other bar patrons. Totally cheapens the place to allow those things to happen.
On a positive the bar staff was friendly, knowledgeable and nice. However, they were on the lightly staffed side for the amount of people present so they were spread thin.
-Room Service; Breakfast this morning was average. Same menu as the restaurant downstairs but we tried different things. First red flag was that the lady said it was going to take longer than usual this morning due to an elevator issue. No problem 9:55 will still work for my husband to leave by 10:15. (Order was placed at 9:10-9:15) 9:55 roles around still no breakfast.---Shows up at 10:05. Lady that delivered was super sweet and very helpful. She set everything up but then realized the hot dishes were missing. She went back to get them. My husband ended up with 5 minutes to eat. :(
While his dish was warm still because of the iron skillet my Benedict was barely luke warm and the sauce on the side had a firm film formed on top. Something about poached eggs barely warm is a stomach turner for me. Too bad, as I think this could have been fairly tasty.
- Pool food is good but only certain things were memorable. Spicy tuna roll is cut way too large per piece I had to cut each piece in half to eat it in one bite. Also to note it's not spicy at all. Good but not spicy.
-Today I ordered the cobb salad, it was nice. However, the $8 shrimp add was a bit pricey for 4 medium sized shrimp. Maybe not completely out of line but I wasn't that impressed. Also, it was missing the avocado. I didn't complain because I had eaten half of the salad when I realized it was missing. Maybe they were out but that should brought to your attention when ordering or at least when they find out. It looked like they just forgot it. I believe it would have added a nice creamy texture to the salad which was missing to make it really great! My husband loved his caprese salad it had great flavor. I ordered a refreshing cucumber mint lemonade and it was tasty. Oh and the Old Bay Chips and dip were yummy too!

With such a beautiful exterior, great staff and location this hotel has potential to be outstanding. They just need to work out the quirks and fine tune some things.

Room Tip: Pay extra for harbor view unless you don't mind the people in the glass building across the stre...

Since it's a Four Seasons, I'd have set certain standards. The room is comfortable and spacious, bathroom is clean. However, the bedding isn't as pleasant as that in the Singapore 4seasons. The room service needs big improvement on selection and taste. I ordered a crabmeat linguini but wasn't able to finish even a quarter as it was simply awful. The good thing is the room service manager didn't charge it to my bill after he became aware that almost the entire plate of pasta wasn't finished but was returned.

I'll still recommend the Four Seasons who wants to stay by the harbour given it's location and probably a better choice than the other hotels.

Never in my life have I loved a hotel this much. The staff treated us like royalty. The most polite helpful people ever work here. My favorite thing was the spa...the sauna, hot tubs, showers, steam rooms-You really spoil yourself by staying here. Its everything you could ask for and more. The trip advisors ratings don't even go high enough.

My husband and I stayed at this property on June 14, 2014 for one night, along with my parents, to celebrate Father's Day & my father's birthday.

Location - Great location on the water & close to lots of restaurants (Roys, Fleming's, The Oceannaire) and tourist attractions, but still tucked away enough that it's not a madhouse.

Rooms - Modern, but warm; Luxurious, without being ostentatious. Loved the rooms - Bed was comfortable, a decent-sized seating area, and a very nice bathroom.

Check-In - Easy process, and one of the rooms was ready a bit earlier than 3, while the other was ready at 3.

Pool - Area was great - Beautiful infinity pool with views of the Harbor. Decent number of chairs, and great service from bar staff.

Standout items for me were:

Positives: Valet service (the staff was just extremely nice and helpful), pool area, room/bathroom

Negatives: We let the Front Desk and Concierge know prior to our arrival that we were celebrating two occasions, and I was very surprised/disappointed that this was never acknowledged. In the past month, we've traveled to the Four Seasons in Bora Bora, Miami, and the Beverly Wilshire, celebrating various occasions, and I felt like all three of those properties handled birthdays, anniversaries, better than the Four Seasons Baltimore. Also, the service level (outside of the valet folks) just seemed to have an overall level of disinterest, not typical of my experiences with the Four Seasons.

If I was headed to Baltimore again, I would definitely pick this hotel again, primarily because of the lack of luxury hotels in the area.

This is a really nice hotel to stay at, located in a really nice area. Good place to walk around, feels very nice and safe. Pabu is a great place to eat too. Staff here are really nice. There's also a very convenient complimentary drop-off service for nearby locations. I love hotels that provide a nespresso machine in the room and this is one of them.

Room Tip: Ask for a water view room... it makes the stay that much more enjoyable.
