“An exception experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2012

Following numerous recommendations, two couples took an early reservation and dined at this quiet restaurant on the inner harbor. From the staff to the menu to the wine to the meal itself, there was absolutely nothing but perfection. It was described to us as "an experience" and it was as the menu offers a list of items that each diner can choose in whichever order desired. Wine pairings are possible but we took the recommendations of the staff were pleased with the bottle of wine and the single glasses that followed. The price can only be listed as "expensive" but the value and the evening were priceless.

“Baltimore's Best?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

We had an outstanding dining experience Charleston earlier this month. I had the 4 course with wine pairings for $134 and my wife had the squash, sausage and white bean soup and then the rockfish (striped bass). My four course included grilled veal sweetbreads (don't get those at home) and grilled lamb tenderloin. Service was perfect. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic. This was our first time in Baltimore; hence the question mark in the title to this review.

“If you don't eat at Salt...”

Enjoy a dining experience at Charleston Restaurant. Excellent wine list by the bottle or glass, great service, and, each time we visited (usually once a year), we were amazed at the pleasure we had in eating and in the apparent pleasure that the staff had in serving us. Charleston offers a full menu. It is expensive to dine there but it is worth the cost in every way.

“Almost perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2012

We have only been a few times, but Charleston has impressed each time. The dining experience there was as close to perfect as it gets. My only drawback would be the desserts - which would have been fabulous anywhere else - just couldn't compare to the unbelievable experience of the dinner. Don't get me wrong - the desserts were wonderful, but the dinner was just too hard to live up to.

We will absolutely go again. And again.

“Baltimore's Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2012

My husband and I have always had a superb experience. This was our third visit. The portion size seems like it has increased since we had last visited because we were so full by the 4th course and barely finished our 5th course. The lobster soup is my favorite. The fried oysters are delicious. I was a little disappointed with the rockfish, lacked flavor and I wouldn't order it again. The buffalo tenderloin very good. Also had the foie gras and sweetbreads which were very good but too heavy for one meal I would order one or the other next time. Can't wait to visit again!
