“Perfect for a weekend break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

We stayed over July 4th weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the Residence Inn Downtown. The rooms were large, complete with fully-equipped kitchen (albeit one we didn't use) and lounge and dining areas. The bathroom was very basic (a clear step down from the more expensive Marriott brands) but perfectly serviceable. Despite the holiday, it was relatively quiet, and the staff were reasonably helpful.

A few minor and acceptable downsides. Breakfast was pretty awful -- the food was rubbery and tasteless, and the seating was your standard corporate soulless and very, very busy (but of course, it was July 4th). It's serviceable for a refuel only. The views are nothing to write home about, unless you like photographing parking lots.

The best feature of the hotel is its location. It's absolutely perfect for the harbor and sights. My suggestion is to buy a day pass for the ferry and see all the different spots. It's a pretty cheap way to get around and you can see a lot of the downtown and harbor area with all the fun of being on the water.

The location was perfect to the inner harbor. I only stayed one night, but would have liked a longer stay. Beware the parking is $32 a day. Also had a bad experience with the breakfast, might have been because it was forth if July weekend. The rooms are nicely sized and I liked the kitchen. I would recommend,

This hotel exceeded my expectations by far. Sexy view of the city at night and a peek at the harbor from our room 1508. The cerulean blue accent wall with the Domino Sugar canvas print was a soothing touch - wish we had been able to see the factory up close. Super friendly front desk staff (helped me figure out the name of a off the beaten path restaurant I had looked up but forgot to write down) and a stellar account manager Irina (who sat on the phone with me for over an hour trying to figure out these mystery charges that appeared on my AMEX account after check-in associated with the hotel; then sent complimentary champagne to my room for my anniversary because the phone call with AMEX ended with me almost in tears) who made sure our stay at the Inner Harbor was fabulous. Tasty breakfast EVERY MORNING (potato pancakes mmmmm) EASY WALKING DISTANCE TO HARBOR (i am NOT a walker and was amazed/pleased at how close we were to the harbor) and if you have the time, make sure you stop at the Aquarium - best $34.50 spent on an attraction in a long time. Ask for late checkout - we avoided the elevator/front desk check out crush this way and leisurely departed stress free at 1pm. LOVED THIS HOTEL and would totally stay again. Thank you Residence Inn family for making our first anniversary a special one!!!

I am a nurse and am often involved in making arrangements for patients to travel to Baltimore for a Johns Hopkins hospital stay. Residence Inn in Baltimore went out of their way to accommodate a recent patient I assisted, which was greatly appreciated. Times and room requirements are not always predictable for hospital stays, yet Residence Inn staff were extraordinarily flexible about helping with complex schedules, on short notice. Lindsey Goforth, Director of Sales, was friendly, easy to work with, and did much to make the arrangements seem simple, though the arrangements were really not your standard reservation. And while it is quite difficult to get a 2 bedroom suite in the peak of summer in a Baltimore hotel, Lindsey handled this readily for us, too. I was told by the guests the breakfast buffet was superb (and healthy!), the room comfortable and clean, and the staff personable and exceptionally responsive to any request. Front Desk Staff even offered to take a box to the post office - way beyond expectations! Service like this is rare and especially valued by patients who have enough on their mind recovering. I highly recommend this hotel to others, and we will use them again.

As I've said in previous reviews, I enjoy Marriott because of their consistent standards. The Residence Inn/Inner Harbor meets and exceeds those standards in all categories. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Friendly, accommodating staff. The free breakfast includes your normal standards but also had a daily change in one of the available entrees. We had potato pancakes one morning that were terrific. The hotel is a very easy walk to the Inner Harbor, Convention Center or Camden Yards. Do your research. I booked far in advance (5 months) and
was able to obtain a very competitive rate versus what I expected.
The staff permitted some flexibility in the check in/check out times that made things very convenient relative to our flight times. I plan to stay again.

The Residence Inn (Downtown/Inner Harbor) hits all the bases for a comfortable home port, especially for families. It's got great beds, strong showers, huge flat screens, plus what has to be the best free breakfast in the city with a changing array of main entrees that kept us pleased during our three-day stay. We didn't make much use of the large, well-equipped kitchen, but certainly could have. And the overall price of under $200 a night for a suite was very reasonable. Would we stay there again? You bet!

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms overlooking the parking lot, as there is a huge construction site across the stre...

We struggled with finding a hotel that was in a good location, a good price and close to the Inner Harbor, but we couldn't have been happier with our choice at the Residence Inn. It was clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was decent and the location was perfect! We would stay again!
