I stayed for two nights, first time in Baltimore. The hotel was undergoing renovations at the time and there were many small inconveniences, some related to the renovations, some unrelated - the fitness center was closed, the printer wasn't working, my room air conditioning was not functioning properly when I arrived, having to use the side door to the hotel because the area in front of the main entrance was being paved. However, the staff were excellent throughout my stay and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained.
Great value, I would stay again!

The room was well cared for. Whenever we needed something or had a problem the maintenance manager( Buddy) was right on the case. I watched him work, going from customer to customer solving problems. He was always cheerful and helpful.
He acted like he was personnally responsible for keeping the Hampton Inn in tip top shape.

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend (Fri - Sun) for my daughter's gymnastic competition. Convenient location and GREAT service. For example - we asked for a crib and it was brought to our room right away. Next day my wife went downstairs to ask if there's a refrigerator in the kitchen where we could store some milk and yogurt till the next day and the small refrigerator was brought to our room within a few minutes. Room was clean. Bathroom is updated. My kids enjoy their time in the pool. It's small, but clean and doesn't have the usual heavy Clorox smell. Breakfast selection was good too.
Would stay there again next year.

We needed to book a hotel in Baltimore Inner Harbor area because our daughter was participating in Christmas on the Chesapeake gymnastics competition held at the Convention Center. We've been to Baltimore a couple times in past 5 years, including one year ago for this same event. The first time we did not need to attend an event at the Convention Center, and we stayed at Homewood Suites, which we liked. But Homewood is not as convenient to the Convention Center. Last year we stayed at the Sheraton, which is a host hotel for this event and connected by walkway to the Convention Center. The Sheraton is very convenient to the Convention Center, but not as comfortable as a suite at this Hampton Inn. The two block walk or so for a suite at the Hampton Inn was a better choice for us.

The suite at the Hampton Inn was large and comfortable, and a great value. The normal price for Hampton is much lower than the "list" cost for some of the other major and supposedly higher end hotels in this area. Although we had very attractive group rates at host hotels adjoining or just across the street from the Convention Center, we were glad we chose this Hampton suite for about the same price.

The suite at the Hampton was large, with two large and very comfortable queen beds, and a pull out couch. The layout of the room is great for a family, with two sinks and large vanity outside the bathroom. Temperature controls worked well, and were not painfully noisy as in many hotels. The room comes with a small kitchen area, including refrigerator, coffee maker, etc, and it has plenty of closet space and room - - you don't feel like you are on top of each other. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable, and restful.

Service at the hotel was very good. My wife was very happy with the people who worked at the hotel, including the desk, valet, and the breakfast area workers.

The breakfast area is nice and generally clean. The breakfast itself is just OK. They did change the hot food from one day to next, but it is prepared en masse, so it is not like going out to a restaurant for breakfast. Still, just the fact that it comes as part of the package for same or significantly less than other large hotels in this area is a bonus.

The only real complaint was the noise. We had a room on the 4th floor on the side of a busier street. Traffic noise can be heard in the room from street level. We also heard some banging in or on the wall during the night or early morning.

Overall, if you want a good value within walking distance of Camden Yards, Convention Center, Inner Harbor, or even M&T football stadium, this Hampton is a good choice.

Room Tip: To avoid noise, assume highest floors or side of the hotel with less busy traffic are best.

We asked for top floor when reserving. Showed up and got mid level.
Major construction in lobby and the room smells bad.
Usually Hampton in OK. Not this time...
Too late and too much trouble to change hotels.
Live and learn. Reviews on this site said it was great.

Hello Ken B,

Thank you for your candid comments. I am very sorry your recent stay was not what you expected. I have sent you a private message to get more information about your stay with us so I can look into the room assignment to see why you were assigned a mid level room instead of a high floor.

I also want to look into the room smell you described. I hope you will take a moment to reply to my request, or contact me here at the hotel directly.

Thank you,

Like most Hampton Inns, this one downtown across the street from the Camden Yard baseball stadium gave my wife and I a Hilton quality room for a Days Inn cost. The only minor sacrifice is there's no restaurant (except for continental breakfast served in the lobby) or bar. However, Baltimore has dozens of excellent.restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride away.

We came in for a quick visit to family and while we normally stay at a more expensive hotel, we thought we'd try the Hampton Inn. It was better! The suite was huge, clean, and quiet. Perfect location. Great staff--we'll be back, for sure.
