“Relaxing oasis in the city”
Reviewed 30 January 2012

Booked this B&B through Groupon deal for a birthday celebration. When we first drove up and saw the outside of the property, we were a bit worried but let's just say we were far from disappointed. We stayed in the Senator's Room and it was beautifully decorated and clean with attention to detail. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the bed linens as well. The bathroom was amazing with large marble shower and jacuzzi. The refrigerator and microwave were nice amenities along with the coffeemaker, microwave popcorn, coffee and tea bags. Breakfast was delicious and they give you a menu to select what you want the night before and you get your own private table in the dining room--something you don't get at all B&Bs. The only negative we saw was the noise level. I know that really can't be helped because of the location in the city but we were awakened several times during the night by people yelling right outside our window and by ambulances driving by. Perhaps there were some rooms located in a quieter inside location of the inn. The validated parking at a locked garage was convenient and safe-- a savings of $21. We would love to go back and try a different room and stay longer next time!

This was our first stay here; we happened to stumble over it on the internet while looking for traditional hotels, and we are so glad we did! We were graciously greeted by a friendly and very helpful staff member who personally assisted with our luggage, escorted us to our room, explained where the parking garage was and how to navigate through Baltimore. Our room was perfectly clean and beautifully decorated. Our favorite feature was the incredibly romantic 4-poster bed, draped overhead with sheers, and the double whirlpool tub. The bed was not only beautiful but extremely comfortable. Our only regret - we could not stay for another night! Breakfast was made to order and tasty. If you are up for exploring, this B&B is in a great location. You can easily walk to the Inner Harbor, Little Italy, Harbor East and Fells Point (or take a short, inexpensive taxi ride) providing an array of options for activities and dining. We loved this place and will definitely return.

This was a wonderful experience. The staff are so attentive and pleasant. They make you feel very special. Breakfast was delicious and they even left a pot of coffee outside the door first think in the morning. I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Every room is fantastic.

We stayed in the Patriots rooms and it's beautiful....huge hot tub, and lots of blue and gold colors. The breakfast is amazing and the staff is friendly. We were able to find free street parking and walked to Little Italy for dinner/dessert (very close, even in cold weather). I liked the little histories outside of each room.

Now the little things that disappointed me: We were told that the sodas/water in the fridge were complimentary. However, the refrigerator was not working (we had champagne to drink). There was one diet coke, one gingerale, one bottle of water not opened, and one open bottle of water (point is, I don't think anyone checked that fridge when prepping the room for the next guests). They did refrigerate our champagne for us and brought us a bottle of water to replace the one that was left opened by the last guest. I asked for Coke's and were told they were "out" but there was an open pantry down the hall where I could see cases of Coke on the floor (I didn't take any). WhenI stayed at the Gramercy (sister property), I felt there were a lot of little touches to make the stay extra nice like amenties in the room, popcorn in the microwave, coffee/tea/tea cakes in the lobby, a fresh rose...all of these things were missing here. I also if they had contact lense solution...while that's not something I expect a hotel/B&B to supply, it seems like having an emergency kit available if guests ask for it would be a nice touch (similar to like a bathroom basket at a wedding, but not for every room, just something the front desk could keep).

Room Tip: I think all of them are nice, try a different room each time

This was our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We reserved the Patriot Room and from the moment we arrived, we were not disappointed. The staff goes out of the way to accommodate your needs and to make your stay the most pleasant experience The breakfast was most impressive and looked like it came from a five star restaurant with an award winning chef. The rooms are elegantly decorated and extremely clean. Transportation to downtown Baltimore is a breeze, with the Charm City Circular Orange Route Bus, literally outside their door(free), or a short safe walk to the Inner Harbor.Parking rate is reasonable and is also a safe, clean parking garage off their premise near by. No matter what room you select, you will not be disappointed. Each room has it own private charm.
Before you arrive, you receive communication from the Inn and continues with your stay and after. They have earned their place on the Select Registry!

Room Tip: For the best and nicest view, choose rooms that overlook the gardens.

The Inn is full of elegance and charm. The rooms are beautifully furnished & spacious the staff friendly & accomodating. The breakfast is wonderful & you have a choice of it being served in either the dining room or your room. The Inn is near the Inner Harbor, Little Italy, and the Power Plant, close enough to walk or a short car ride away. We have stayed here quite a few times & look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Rooms that front Albemarle St are quieter than those fronting Lombard St.
