I am a customer service trainer so I know a little about the topic. In fact, that is why I was at this hotel -- to teach a day long seminar on Customer Service Management. I travel around the country to teach and stay in countless hotels. And few of them made me feel as welcomed and comfortable as this one.

One person stood out above all others, front desk champion, Sonika McFadden. She saw that I was having a tough week of traveling, and went out of her way to turn my week around. Now, that is good customer service. And that is what will bring me back! Thank you again, Sonika

I stayed at this hotel for one week. The rooms are big and not cramped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love the flavored water they put in the lobby each day. The beds are comfortable. The hallways are always quite. I really like the Cafe'. The smoothies are sooo good! Great for a snack, lots to choose from. It is only two blocks form the University of Maryland Medical Center which is great. Such a short walk when the weather is nice. Also a short walk to Inner Harbor. I would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room on the Lombard St side. The Fire Station was right outside our window which was...

Just for fun, can I tell you why there are so few Holiday Inns left? Stuck in one for the last 3 days (proximity + availability) and here are the reasons why I damn sure won't return: a) mattress is likely made of stacked cardboard, b) pillows are weirdly undersized, c) a/c is super loud, d) halls, elevators & public areas other than main lobby have no a/c, e) the bedding is 17 thread count canvas, f) the strategic location across from a busy fire station is only desirable if the hotel is on fire. All this for only $225/night. Ugh. & yes, when booking personal travel I'm the queen of getting 4 star hotels for a fraction of that cost. Only gave it an average rating because of location & the room was clean. #cantsleep

Amy,

First, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay with here at the Holiday Inn Inner Harbor. It is through feedback from our guests that we learn our strengths and weaknesses, only once we know what they are can we begin to improve those feats.

This year Holiday Inn Inner Harbor will be embarking on a massive pillow swap program, that will replace all pillows, this will not only affect our Holiday Inn, but the entire brand
Sorry about the Fire Station, as you mentioned we are right in the heart of downtown Baltimore, and being a downtown city location meaning there is a lot of metropolitan activity all night.

Again, Thank you for your comments and your stay with us during the past. Over the years, this Hotel has prided itself on the level of service given to our valued guests and I share the disappointment your visit did not reflect that experience.

Best Regards and Safe Travels,

I have stayed here twice now and both times I had a great experience. Nice rooms with a decent view and enough amenties to keep most happy. I went to Preakness in both 2013 and 2014 and this was one of the only hotels that you could book last minute which was a lifesaver so thank you Holiday Inn!

Zach

Room Tip: Stay on a higher floor to see the Inner Harbor!

This hotel had clean rooms, comfortable beds, and plenty of amenities. We visited the pool and even spent time in the sauna. It's located in a busy part of town, so navigating traffic and parking was troublesome (but that's normal in a downtown area). It did find it odd that we had to sign in to use the pool and that an attendant was present the entire time watching. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. We ordered room service, which came quickly and was quite good.

Very clean rooms that are good sized with a king size bed, couch and sitting chair, as well as a desk. There is an in-room refrigerator and microwave. It is 2 blocks from the Convention Center, 4 blocks from the Inner Harbor and 4 blocks from Camden Yard. A wide variety of eating establishments close by. Only downside, $25 a day parking..

Definitely above average Holiday Inn. Room were clean and spacious, sheets clean, toiletries abundant. Pool was large and enjoyable, included play area, 8 foot deep area, and a lap area. Location was great, a few blocks off the inner harbor. Staff pleasant and helpful. Nearby Charm Circulator stops and light rail from BWI make a family trip to Baltimore fun. Among the least expensive of the Inner harbor hotels. Nearly as convenient as the most expensive. multiple nearby locations to eat, including breakfast. On-site shop has snacks for not too unreasonable prices.
TIP: you can take the light rail from BWI to Pratt St stop and walk 1 block to the hotel, cost $1.60/person. Then use the Charm city circulator to check out the local sights, including Ft McHenry, B&O museum (highly recommended), Port Discovery, etc.

Room Tip: Higher floors give better view but not of harbor.
