“4 Star Hotel with a 5 Star future. Beyond 5 Star location.”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

The location is spectacular! The hotel is a bit dated and service was average. However, I was impressed with the new hotel manager, recently transferred from the Anaheim Hyatt Regency, who was highly visible and exhibited a most caring attitude to make things better. I met him in the Regency Club and he spoke with pride about planned renovations to upgrade the Regency Club as well as the hotel. I believe in his hands, the hotel has a bright 5 star future. I was impressed with both the service and the breakfast and evening food and beverage selections in the Regency Club. Upgrading to Regency Club is worth the price. On the improvement list should be upgrading the furnishings in the guest rooms. I had a small couch/chair in my room that long ago should have been donated to Goodwill.

Room Tip: Request a bay view room on a high floor. I was on the 12th floor out of 14 floors. Highly recommend...

Stayed for a night on the inner harbor. The room was very good, the staff very friendly and attentive. Food seemed a bit over priced ($50.00 for 2 for breakfast) The major issue I have is at $300 per night they could have water in the room. Had to go to the bar after 10 pm just to get water at $3.00 per bottle, really!! For $300 2 bottles of water in the room won't kill them. If I am down again will most likely check out the Sonesta or another hotel.

Room Tip: If you do go get a harbor view room

The hotel was clean and the service was great. We stayed on the Regency Club Level and we're happy we did, would recommend it. The floor includes a staff "cafe" which had light breakfast items, evening horderves, and always had bottles of water, soda, and an espresso machine available during the day. My room overlooked the bay and the hotel location is near Starbucks, the aquarium, and some great restaurants.

Room Tip: The Regency Club Level rooms were on the 11th floor, were about the same price and had great additio...

I stayed in a room alone but got two card keys (you never know if you accidentally leave one in your room). Room and washroom was beautiful. Shower has a aquamarine effect going on, I really digged the shower.

The only jab is no free WIFI and I didn't know there would be a deposit even though it is standard for conventions.

Don't make calls to Canada from the US, they cost 10.00. But it was an emergency so I had to do it.

If you are weak-bodied, summer phobic like me and can afford it, choose to stay in this hotel. It's close the the convention centre and good for walking a short distance too when you feel crowded.

Room Tip: Book in August for Otakon Rooms.

The hotel was very nice & clean. The location cannot be beat! The walkway to Harbor place connects to the hotel parking lot. Very easy access. The gentleman at the fron desk Rakiid was wonderful, so very pleasant & informative! Would definately stay again!
Had a noise machine in the room that was great... heard nothing else all night or morning.

Room Tip: Ask for water view

As everyone has said, great location and I agree. I doubt you could get a better connection to the Inner Harbor than two foot bridges across Light Street! My wife and I stayed on the 12th floor in a semi-waterfront view king sized bed room the weekend of August 15th 2014. The room was clean and didn't smell funky, the view was fine, the bathroom was clean and well prepared. Not having stayed there before and having the benefit of a corporate discount we had the choice of a Regency Club room or a Business room that had a real harbor view. We chose the 12th floor Regency Club and we were glad we did! The Regency Club room and the gentlemen who staff it made the stay great. The club room offers a computer with internet, continental breakfast (cold cereals, fruit of all sorts, pastries, bagels and other breads, orange juice, apple juice, coffee (you watch it get ground as it brews), Snacks during the day, canned soda, three kinds of water and after five finger food with a couple of desserts!
Ok so before you say so what..... for two people it was pleasant, for a couple with kinds it would be a life saver to have all that available INCLUDED IN THE ROOM COSTS !!!
The hits that dropped the grade were the noisy air conditioner... Clunk bang whoosh with every cycle... The really slow "standard in room" internet, the lack of a program guide on the otherwise great TV.... well... not that great.... Up-scaled standard def video on a 40" tv looks odd.... even my wife (who NEVER) commented on how weird the pictures looked. Parking was right next to the hotel but cost $20 a day as long as you didn't use valet. The third floor has a bistro (bar) that made a horrible Long Island Iced Tea that was over priced...
The two foot bridges are great connectors BUT.... The bridge from the 3rd floor of the parking garage takes you to a shopping mall which closed at 10pm OR makes you walk through the Hooters to get to the actual inner harbor. There is a gate at the garage end that is secured in the evening (times vary by day). The bridge from the far side of the 2nd floor of the actual hotel takes you to another door of the same shopping mall or makes you walk around the outside of the mall. This bridge NEEDS better lighting.

SO why the C- for the Harbor... NO police presence and an over the top presence of homeless people. In two days we were approached by eight very different kinds of street people. Please don't get us wrong, homeless people need help and many have some form of mental issues or dependency issues. BALTIMORE needs to help these people. My wife and I went to the IH 20 years ago and knew that the key in protecting the money making machine was the police presence making the tourists feel safe while isolating homeless somewhere else. Over the two full days we were there we saw a lot of street sweepers and "direction givers" but only saw the police twice! We found one cop in the mall shopping and a group of four having a group consult at 12:45am at the corner of Pratt and Light streets.... note to the police.. the people you are there to protect are on the OTHER SIDE of the IH !!!

Cut to the chase..... The IH is a WEEKDAY DAY TRIP with a ONE NIGHT STAY ONLY..... Go early, hit all the attractions while using the 12th floor of the Hyatt as a base of operations. Stay the night and go home the next day refreshed and happy!

Room Tip: Just with buying a house..... location, location, location..... Go for the 12th floor! You will plea...
