“Sheraton Inner Harbor”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Sheraton Inner Harbor was a great location, situated within walking distance of everything that Baltimore's Inner Harbor has to offer. As I had two rooms booked for my group, both had excellent views- either of the Orioles or Ravens facilities, or of the waterfront. The Club Room SPG upgrade was excellent, as it saved or entire group on both breakfast and snacks through the weekend. As with most older Sheratons, however, you can detect some age in design- although the rooms are very well appointed, the bathrooms are a bit smaller than new hotels. The functionality remains sound, however. The service was excellent, although the valet was a bit slow one evening. I would recommend this hotel for sure over other SPG properties in the area, as it also has a Mortons on lobby level- fabulous steaks and a great hotel for your Baltimore stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a club level room upgrade - 14th floor

Hotel is very convenient if you're attending an event at the Convention Center, as I was, because there's a walkway that connects the two. It's outdoors, but it was still such a short stroll that I could leave my coat in my room. So -- a few bucks saved right there by not having to use the coat check! Also, I paid a room rate that was $10 higher and for that got parking for a day, which beat the prices at the downtown parking garages and was better than paying the hotel a whopping $22.50 for daily parking. Speaking of whopping, an in-room movie on your TV costs about $18, and that's not including taxes. Pretty bad when Netflix charges $4.99. The lobby was nice, with beautiful fresh flowers; my room was small but clean and had a terrific view of the Inner Harbor. Bed was comfy. Hallway noise seems unusually audible. The lobby staff was amazing -- rushed to open doors, came over if you looked the slightest bit lost to see if they could help. As others have noted, the swimming pool is more like a big bathtub, but I didn't use it. Fitness center was good. The Orioles Grill in the hotel is fine but pricey for what you get. Finally, you have to pay if you want to use their WiFi, which I think is ridiculous. I'd stay here again, though, for the convenient location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Inner Harbor.

Staff was very nice & rooms were clean. Lobby was pretty with beautiful flowers. Pool needed chlorine it smelled & was cold. The food was good but way over priced. 10$ for cereal. 14.50 for an omelet. Walls were very thin. Wifi & parking should be free. It wasn't a bad place to stay but I wouldn't recommend.

I would like to thank you for staying at the Sheraton Inner Harbor. Please know that the stay survey information you provided is taken extremely seriously. I was so very glad to see how highly you rated the staff and their service. It is something that we are all very proud of here at our home.

I am sorry about the pool size. I agree it is rather small but our descriptions of it that we provide does not hide that fact. The bromine pool can at times appear to be in need of chlorine, but it is not that type of pool. I also understand your comments about parking & wifi. Please know that our parking charges within the City of Baltimore fall in the low range of hotels. Also, Sheraton does provide the link @ Sheraton in the lobby which allows free internet usage 24 hours per day.

I am sorry that you likelihood of returning was rated so low. I just wanted to thank you and let you know we do read and react to the information provided.

Respectfully,

Jon Koscher

Upgraded to suite and room looked very nice. Large layout big sitting area and living room.

Air conditioner and heat unit sound like someone trying to start a dump truck in the room.

Walls are thin and overall just felt dated and in need of repair.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference at the convention center. The location and sky walk to the convention center are very convenient.

The front desk staff I spoke with was not very welcoming, but the restaurant staff at the Orieles bar was very friendly, and they provided free coffee in the morning (no tea) for people on their way to the convention center.

The rooms are average, cleanliness below average for a hotel in this price range. They provided a five dollar voucher for every day that you decline room service, but you can only use it at hotel partner businesses.

The walls here are thinner than paper. I could literally hear the person in the room next to mine sneezing, unzipping the suitcase, hanging up close, throwing away a piece of paper. In my opinion this lack of privacy is unacceptable, especially for 150 a night (conference rate) -- the Hilton was only 10 dollars more a night, and I am wiling to bet that those rooms are a lot quieter.

I will not return to this hotel again.

Hello Ann F

Thank you for sharing your stay details with us. We appreciate your kind comments on our Orioles Grille team and location. We certainly apologize that you felt that our front office staff was not welcoming and that our walls appear thin. We will share your comments with our management team as well as the design team. We are experimenting with some solutions with some rooms that seem to generate more noise issues. While we are very sorry that you will not stay with us again, we do hope that you will consider Starwood Hotels and Resorts the next time you travel.

Warm Regards

The Sheraton is very centrally located... it's basically walking distance to just about anywhere near the Baltimore Inner Harbor. We had a room facing the stadium (west), which was actually nice... It was quiet and we took a nap to a wonderful sunset.
The hotel staff is friendly and very willing to help. But, the hotel rooms are small. The bathrooms are also very small. Let's face it, it's an older hotel. I would actually take some of the furniture out of the rooms (armchairs) to make more room for suitcases.
WiFi was included because I'm a Starwood Preferred member. But, the parking was a bit steep. It was close to $30 (after a lot of taxes) for self-park. All in all, not a bad place to stay considering the rooms were not very expensive.
