The only thing that was hard for us was the side walks were cracked and uneven to walk. The trolley that goes up and down the street was not working. Has a lot of neat little shops and restaurants to eat.

A fellow was making names out of wire. Super great when my daughters name is very had to find. He was very nice and you pay what you like.

Beautiful area to stay in or simply visit. Excellent restaurants and pubs. Street musicians and much more. Visit for a night of enjoyment.
I loved the old, historic buildings and its block streets. Many small shoppings from food to hand crafts. Food can be a little expensive though. You can find parking on bay street and walk down to river st. You can pass by the tourist center and they will cordially guide you too. You can take a free ferry to the convention center or a paying, trip ferry through downtown river. Overall, its a must see in savannah!
The only issue with River Street is the parking. There is parking at either end, for a price, and in some cases it was difficult to get the kiosk to work correctly. I would highly suggest taking a cab or trolley, get off at one end of River Street and then pick up a cab or trolley at the other end. Another alternative is to book a hotel near River Street so it is within walking distance. Along the street, which is right by the river, there are multiple shops to investigate. You can buy t-shirts, candy, souvenirs, eat lunch/supper, sit and listen to various musicians, catch a dolphin tour or a cruise, etc. There is so much to do! The people are very friendly and helpful.
