The hotel actually consists of 2 buildings. The rooms are incredibly well decorated and foreseen of all necessities. They did need some extra cleaning in the corners.
Our ground floor room was a bit dark, but since we were always in the city it really didn't mather. The door lock seemed a bit weak, so that needs some attention. Just a few parking spaces are available on the grounds.. Free parking on the street is possible but make sure to check the parking signs.

The streets surrounding the hotel are just so beautifull. Great for long walks.
Tip: Leave the car at the hotel and walk to River Street (about 20min).

Breakfast needed to be ordered the night before and is quite small. The first morning we had breakfast in the kitchen but it was just too hot in there. The next morning the kitchen was filled with smoke because of the cooker so we had breakfast in the dining room which was much cooler.

The daily comp wine, biscuits and scones were a treat and was the perfect little snack.

If we happen to be in Savannah again we will surely take this hotel into consideration.

The most complimentary thing I can say about this place is that the staff members are very personable, courteous and eager to please. I truly hope that owners/management appreciate their efforts!

We're from California. Spent two nights at the Gastonian, May 2 & 3. We stayed in the Juliette Low suite and highly recommend it. The room was on the second floor, quite spacious with a huge private veranda. Beautiful views from our windows and we really enjoyed having breakfast each morning out on the veranda. The staff at the Gastonian were all very friendly and helpful. The food was great - breakfast brought to our room each morning, afternoon wine and appetizers in the parlor, and late evening coffee, tea and homebaked desserts. Located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood, we could walk to restaurants and shops. We really felt that we made a great choice in Savannah by staying at the Gastonian. We loved it!

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with the Juliette Low room as it is the only room with a private veranda and look...

From the time of our arrival where Walter helped bring up our bags to Mida and Hallie greeting us and helping with our plan everything was perfect. Afternoon tea and hors doevres were great and all the guests sat around talking like old friends. After everyone came back from dinner, dessert and coffee were served and we talked for another 2 hours. Karen was in no rush and kept filling up the plates. In the morning for breakfast, James prepared our breakfast as per our order. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend the Gastonian.

We stayed at the Gastonian right after St. Patrick's Day weekend. Front desk staff was helpful and offered ideas on where to dine and sold us tickets to a trolley ride through the town. The actual location is just at the edge of the historic district- but a pleasant stroll to all of the town squares. The building itself is lovely, historic and well furnished. Parking was tight out in the small lot behind the building. Our room was lovely, but only had two glasses. When we were out for the day, they were not replenished. Breakfast offers the same choices every day. If you don't get to the dining room seating, you have to sit in the hot kitchen, where food is being prepared. My poached egg was previously cooked. I do know that eggs poach better in vinegar, but the rewarmed egg should not have tasted pickled. Afternoon tea was nice, but one did not expect to see left over chocolate chip cookies served at breakfast. Husband was VERY OFFENDED by a note from the manager saying that a gratuity to be spread among all staff- laundry, maid service, chef, etc would be fairly split, and please leave an appropriate tip when checking out, which can be billed to your credit card. This is one several inns in the group of Bed and Breakfasts in Savannah. Others would be a better choice. Can't put my finger on it, but it is just a bit run down, and not what we had expected.
