“Solid Value for the Money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

Charming inn conveniently located in the Historic District of Savannah. Street parking is a great option as parking in Savannah can be quite the challenge. Our room was located on the ground level facing the courtyard where breakfast is served. This is lovely in the evening, but be sure the drapes are drawn in the morning as your bed directly faces those enjoying breakfast :-) Our room was nice, but nothing special as B&Bs go. The bathroom was of average hotel caliber -- not charmingly historical like many in Savannah & amenities were average as well, though most appreciated. The breakfast was tasty, but nothing special. Wine & cake in the afternoon are a nice touch and the staff is quite pleasant. This is a great alternative to hotel accommodations when visiting Historical Savannah.

charming old house in heart of Savannah Historic District. Easy walk to Forsyth Park. Had room in the newer part, off the courtyard. Not as cozy as rooms in the main house but comfortable none the less. There is no problem with the noise in your room when breakfast is served in the courtyard; predominant sound is that of the fountain-either you like the sound of flowing water or you don't- we do. Very nice wine and cheese reception at night. Evening manager could use a charm lesson or two, but nothing major. All in all, a good choice if you are in town

Room Tip: try for the main house if it is old world charm you want

Our best decision, was to stay at the Eliza Thompson Inn. What a wonderful Bed & Breakfast. The hotel was old, from 1847, but had all the southern charms you want! The atmosphere included, cobble stone streets in front, a rear courtyard with coy pond, 15 rooms throughout. The amenities were the best I have ever encountered, free breakfast daily, free wifi, free happy hour with appetizers, free dessert and coffee at night. Our room was small and cozy and worked out great!

Everything was just as described on their web site & we had a very comfortable 4 night stay in the Chatham room which has its own private door from the road. It has 2 double beds which are supremely comfortable.it also has a little store/laundry room - with a sink & iron.

We think it would be handy to have a little drinks fridge in here to have chilled water etc as the bottled water was not chilled although there is ice in the main house. Also a kettle would be really useful to make tea & coffee as needed.

Breakfast & afternoon cakes were delicious.

We had a great evening watching the Sand Gnats baseball !

Room Tip: We only saw our room the Chatham - which is very private as it has its door straight onto a pretty c...

What a wonderful treat this was! The be in the middle of the historic district and stay in a mansion built in 1847. I wanted to feel the flavor of the city and have a "non hotel" experience. The happy hour & dessert after dinner was another treat! We got to talk with other guests and really enjoyed it. The breakfast was very average but the outside terrace was lovely. We had a king room in the courtyard and it was very quiet. My only negative is the doors are glass with blinds but no black out shade. So if you want a really dark room you need to request that.

Room Tip: i can't imagine any room being noisy as the streets are quiet and most are located in the rear o...

We stayed for 2 nights in April with another couple. We both were in courtyard rooms. The courtyard is beautiful. A hot breakfast is served there each morning. Great amenities offered through the day - we enjoyed wine and cheese in the courtyard each night prior to dinner. The B&B also offers dessert and decaf coffee from 8-10 each evening. A great way to meet others staying there. The house, built in 1847, is beautiful. Just loved staying in a period home while enjoying sightseeing Savannah. Would most definitely return.

POSITIVES --
1. Brandon was at my car assisting before I had even finished parking! Now that's service!
2. Excellent location in old-town Savannah. You are in the mist of brick-side-walks and Spanish moss hanging from trees.
3. Rooms are available with separate (individual) beds. This is a nice option and it helps with a good night's sleep.
4. Very little vehicular traffic at night. Peaceful neighborhood.
NEGATIVES -- none.
