Stayed in one of the 2 original rooms. To be expected, bathroom is small, but manageable, however, the room was good sized and the bed was SOOOO comfortable. Located on lovely Jones Street. The parlor is charming. The breakfast is really an unbelievable fresh homemade buffet with hot entries, fresh fruit, drinks, and they even had grits. The breakfast courtyard is just beautiful and the old tree with the hanging Spanish moss was perfect. Parking is on the street for $12 per day, a little inconvenient but not impossible. Everything is within walking distance. We walked all over the place... all the squares, down to the waterfront and back. Really doable for anyone. Very reasonably priced compared to the other historic inns.

#1 BnB in Savannah Historic District - Don't Look any Further! - we booked Eliza T. after reviewing 100s of Bnbs and others helpful reviews. We initially booked 2 nights and then extended to 3. On the famous and very central Jones st. Just a few steps from all the history - Loved our spacious clean downstairs quiet sanctuary. On street parking with pass, fabulous cooked breakfast with accomodations if needed by Miss Virgina. Erin at front desk was SO helpful, informative and friendly.

We really enjoyed social time at 530 - meeting others from all over the worlds (Aussies. Brits, and a great spread of Yankees and Southerner's) with good quality wines, cheeses and nibbles - inside in drawing room and outside in patio garden - go early for all meals and choose the more spacious tables - beautiful shaded outdoor areas to relax and rest your feet after walking tours of savannah - noble jones private tour - a must! Of note, at least 3 of the guests we spent time with over social hour were repeat guests - 2,3,5 times. This BnB is one of a number owned by a private group of locals and very professionally run.

We were two ladies on a 50th Birthday Celebration - very special - looking forward to coming back with our husbands another time. For two single wormen - choose downstairs - Chatham room - spacious, quiet, calm and clean!

Room Tip: Two ladies (45-50 age) specifically chose downstairs Chatham room - spacious, two double beds, clean...

The rooms are beautiful, and right in the center of the historic district, so it is a short walk away from everything (tours, stores, bars, restaurants, the river, etc...). You really get an authentic southern historic feel in the house (with the benefits of Air Conditioning). Breakfast is home made and satisfying, there is a happy hour and desert time included as well. They offer a turn-down service, which is cute. There is a small yard/patio in the center of the house with lots of seating and it is a very pleasant place to relax. Umbrellas are available for use located by the front door which is very nice. However, my mother and I were, no doubt, the youngest people there.

My husband and I stopped here for a single night's stay (Thursday) on a whirlwind tour of Georgia. We were greeted outside by Brandon, who was incredibly nice and helped us check in/gave us a quick tour of the property.

Wine and cheese reception every night from 5:30-7 and desserts/decaf coffee from 8:30 (I think) until 10 PM.

Great location, close to all parks and one block down from Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House (go for lunch!!!).

Our room was facing the patio area outside, which is decorated with many flowers, a few fountains and outdoor seating. The room was smaller, but was decorated tastefully and was plenty of space for the two of us for a single night. Furnishings were nice and the bed was very comfortable.

Breakfast was cooked by Mrs. Virginia, who took time to speak to all of the guests. She made sure we enjoyed our meal and didn't need anything else :)

The entire staff was very nice and the property was very well-kept. We can't wait to return to Savannah and spend more time at the Eliza Thompson House in the future.

Room Tip: spend the extra few dollars to face the courtyard area, it was such a pleasant space to walk out to...

The hubs and I stayed at the Eliza Thomspon House a few weeks ago, and we couldn't be happier with our visit. The service was top notch from the start, with friendly greetings each time we left or entered. The weather reports threatened rain, so the staff left umbrellas by the front door for us to grab on the way out. So thoughtful!

The grounds themselves are something special. The rooms are simple yet comfortable; the courtyard is really lovely. We had a pretty mellow vacation and had some lovely mornings eating and reading on the courtyard. Most impressively of all, though, is the location. Jones Street is remarkable, just oozing with charm, history, and shade! Also, we love the many meals provided, and especially appreciated the filling breakfast.

I see that others complained about the parking. Eliza Thompson House is very upfront about the parking challenges, so we decided to not rent a car. It was a great decision! Everything is in walking distance, and the few times we wanted to check out something a bit far (I'm pregnant, so my "a bit far" is less than it used to be!), there were taxis, pedicabs, or tour vans to pick us up. We did the math, and even with paying for a cab a few times that weekend, we still spent less than we would have if we rented a car and paid for the parking pass.

We loved our experience here, and I can't wait to go back again!

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms are nice and quiet.

The Eliza Thompson House was exactly what we were looking for - a lovely old B&B in a quiet, historic area of Savannah. We easily walked to Forsyth Park, the City Market (recommend Belford's for a quality lunch), and all the wonderful park squares. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The breakfasts were very tasty and filling. Ms. Virginia was very welcoming. We also loved the dessert offerings in the evening! Great to have that available after having a meal out. We love Savannah in general and would definitely stay at the Eliza Thompson House if/when we return.

Room Tip: We had a quiet, private room on the first level in the corner of the Courtyard. Lots of great ambian...

Eliza Thompson House is full of character(s). There's a sheltered courtyard, complete with water features, comfortable lounge, olde worlde bedrooms, delicious breakfast, scrumptious cakes in the evening and best of all helpful, friendly, nothing-is-too-much-trouble for them staff. We loved it here. We were a bit concerned about the street parking for our hire car-we drove in from Charleston, but we found a space when we needed one. Parking is free from 5 or 6pm (not sure which) to 8am Mon-Fri and free all day Sat and Sun. The hotel will provide you with a 48 hour parking permit for $12 if needed-the cost is added to your bill. One side of the road is swept in the early hours of Saturday and the other side in the early hours of Sunday, so you can't leave your car overnight on the sweepy side of the road (well you can but it will probably removed) We didn't find it a problem and just moved our car as and when. Savannah is an easily walkable city and a car is not necessary. Stay at the Eliza Thompson House and have a treat.
