My daughter and I were on a mother daughter get-a-way. I had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. My daughter thought I would enjoy the xperience. Well, she was right, the Green Palm Inn, is a real jewel. Totally loved the atmosphere, great home feel, very clean and the inn keeper will made you feel totally welcome. I am planning on going to Savannah again, and taking my husband with me, so he can experience this lovley inn and the Savannah charm!

My husband and I stayed in the Green Palm Inn in May 2006. We had never been to Savannah before, and wanted someplace close to the historic area. This inn was very comfortable, cozy and clean. The room was none too large, but did have 2 chairs, queen size bed, TV armoire, closet, and private bath. Decor was very Palm-y, but in good taste. We paid about $165/night for 3 nights.
The breakfast was great! There were fresh baked cookies on the sideboard all day, and wine and snacks in the afternoon -- so nice to have a restful interlude with a glass of wine and appetizer before going out to dinner, after sightseeing all day!
Our hostess was very kind and helpful, very knowledgable about Savannah, and made us feel so welcome. She had maps and guide books to lend.
The Inn is on the east side of the historic city, near one of those wonderful park squares. It is a long walk to the riverfront shopping and restaurant area. However, there are several excellent restaurants only a block or two from the Inn. Trying to drive and park in the city is a nightmare (lots of one-way streets) so just bring your walking shoes and leave your car at the Inn - free parking, by the way! Coming back to the Inn in the evening felt like coming home after a long day. The comfy living room was available any time, with a great variety of books on the shelf.
Bring your sunglasses, sunscreen , wide brim hat and bug repellent, and you'll have a great time in Savannah. For side trips, go to Tybee Island - a laid back beach town. Don't bother with a day trip to Hilton Head. Unless you're staying there, you're not allowed in the resorts to look around, and we couldn't find a public beach access area. It's a long drive to look at trees and guarded entrances!

My husband and I had a great stay in Savannah, and the Green Palm was certainly one of the highlights. Diane workes hard to ensure that her guests are comfortable, and she pays special attention all the details. Our room (the Sabal Palm) was impeccable. The breakfasts were fantastic, she made excellent suggestions of places to visit, and gave us a fabulous recommendation for a restaurant. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our trip to the Green Palm, and we already can't wait to return!!!

Very friendly Innkeeper, Diane. Made us feel welcome and extremely helpful with our site seeing plans. Pleasant personality. This was smaller Inn, which we liked. It was located in the historic district, centrally located to everything. Rooms were first class. Breakfast home cooked and very delicious. Afternoon dessert and treats. Met a number of very interesting people who also enjoyed the home atmosphere of her home.

Diane keeps her Inn in impeccable condition. Southern hospitality at its best. If you want to have fun and laugh a bit, stay here, it will make your stay a pleasant one. Have not figured how a girl from Michigan came south with so much enthusiam and hospitality!

We would definitely go back!

My wife and I were married in Savannah, and we have decided to return there on our anniversary each year. She was raised in Georgia, and even though I am a long-time Michigander, I have fallen in love with the charming and friendly atmosphere of Savannah. As frequent visitors, we would not think of staying anywhere else but the Green Palm Inn. The Inn is located near one of Savannah’s historic squares, and is within easy walking distance of River Street and Savannah’s other attractions. The rooms at the Green Palm are inviting, comfortable and well appointed, and the gathering area on the main floor provides an informal atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing and interacting with the other guests. Diane, our hostess, provides an excellent breakfast each day, and there are a variety of home made snacks available in the dining room at all hours. In addition, Diane is extremely knowledgeable about the Savannah area, and can provide directions, information and tips for visiting the many attractions in the area. We feel totally at home at the Green Palm Inn, and plan to return there each year, until we finally decide to stay there permanently. In the meantime, the Green Palm Inn will be our home-away-from-home in Savannah.
