“A Great Getaway”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the Dresser Palmer House. We stayed in the Gardenia Room, which was quiet and comfortable. The staff made us feel like we were right at home - Sarah was particularly helpful with dinner reservations! Breakfast was very good with a great antique filled, tasteful atmosphere. The entire house was charming, welcoming and beautiful. We particularly liked spending time relaxing on the front porch with a glass of wine! What a great weekend - we will be back!

Hey schuggs!

Thanks so much for staying at The Dresser Palmer House. We are always glad to entertain our guests and send y'all to the best eateries and fun spots Savannah has to offer. The Gardenia room is a quaint and cozy room in the garden level which still gets a good bit of natural sunlight, it's a guest favorite. Happy you enjoyed the wine on the front porch and our taste in decorating!!

The final leg of our mother/daughter southern road trip included 3 days in Savannah and we were lucky to find the Dresser Palmer House. From the moment I called to reserve, we were treated wonderfully. When I met Sarah in person, she was just as warm and professional as she was on the phone. We had to change rooms since the Gardenia room (on the lower level) was only available for one night of our stay. The other room was on the opposite side of the house and on the 2nd floor. The staff moved our things for us while we took a city tour. It was serendipitous that we could enjoy 2 rooms during our weekend stay instead of just one. Both were beautifully decorated and so very comfortable. The rooms were super clean and linens soft and fresh. Miss Janice does an excellent job taking care of the rooms. The breakfast was exceptional and we loved the 5-6 p.m. social hours, chatting with other guests. It was a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: If the back parking spaces are full, there is another parking lot, just a bit further out back. It...

Hey Tricia L!

Thanks SO much for the kind review. We are always glad to host mother/daughter trips. They are important to revive, de-stress, and bond with each other! We have 16 very unique rooms here at DPH and a lot of guests elect to stay in different rooms with us. It's just a fun way to stay in Savannah away from the bustle of the busy downtown area. We're glad you found us and that we were able to take care of your needs here.

What a wonderful time we had here! A quiet, romantic setting from which to explore the entire city. Walk almost everywhere, the staff is great, the room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Can't say enough good things about our stay.

I stayed at the Dresser Palmer as part of a leisure trip tagged onto a business trip to the Deep South of the US. I made the booking at the last minute and they were really responsive to my emails and getting me all figured out. The inn is everything I was hoping for - charming, quiet, a beautiful inn with lots of nooks (the backyard in particular was perfect) to hide away and read a great book. The staff were so friendly and the guests I met along the way were fascinating. Sarah, in particular, gave me lots of great restaurant recommendations and all were spot on. When I'm back in Savannah, I'll be sure to come back!

Hi happyxs,

Thanks for adding us to your southern trip! It's very important to have a little fun when traveling for business, and we are glad you were able to relax and kick back with us. The courtyard is my favorite place to be! Sometimes I just go out there and just garden or take care of the koi in the pond (aka, take a nap on the bench)... Come back and visit soon!

I cannot recall being treated to a better long weekend. This was my first B & B and my first time in Savannah. Both experiences were perfect. Kolin went above and beyond even to help me with my gluten-free diet. Sarah was always there to share a story. Janice made sure everything was fresh and clean. The house was fabulous and carried a rich history (and maybe even a few ghosts :) ).
All I can add is ... I'm planning a return trip ASAP. Relax and enjoy yourself.

In mid-April 2014, my husband and I stayed at the Dresser Palmer for two nights. I will admit I was pleasantly surprised because I found it on an internet search and typically don't have high expectations of a hotel unless close friends recommend. The pictures of the rooms actually matched what we saw. As soon as we walked into the entry way, you felt comfortable and satisfied. Parking was convenient at no extra charge, a social/happy hour every evening was available with top shelf liquor, beer and wine with cheese appetizers, and if you missed the social you could take your drink in a "to go" cup and contribute to the cost of the drinks. Sarah was our first hostess and she was very accommodating and helpful getting us our room. We had a flight delay and checked in late, but she stayed longer than normal to ensure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. Loved our room the "Samuel Palmer" and it had a balcony with pretty views of the street, trees and bushes. Located in the historic district I loved its proximity to the squares, boutiques and restaurants. We never had to drive anywhere which was nice. I would highly recommend Dresser Palmer to anyone and will stay there again.

Room Tip: If you look at the website and are not sure of its quiet side or whether you feel safe, call the B&a...

Booked same day, the room was ready upon my early arrival. The gentlemen at the desk were extremely friendly and helpful. It was nice to not pay extra for parking for once. The hotel bar had drinks on the honor system with "to-go" cups ready for city adventures. The wine and cheese social in the after noon was a good pause to meet others staying at the same location. The breakfast was included and enjoyable. The rooms were clean and large with mine having a nice updated bathroom and walk out communal balcony/porch.

Room Tip: Henry Dresser room had a updated bathroom and shower.
