This house was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. It is in the historic district in downtown Savannah. It was within walking distance to all major attractions. 6 women were in my group and it was perfect for us. 3 full bathrooms, a nice media room on the third floor. There was a hot tub in the courtyard which was nice. The house was filled with beautiful artwork. The place was stunning. The only thing I would have to say, is if you don't like stairs, this isn't the place for you.
The apartment was wonderful, beautiful kitchen. Very near a lot of nice restaurants and a fascinating cemerty (believe or not) many graves from people who lost their lives in the yellow fever epidemic. Be prepared to walk up stairs. Lovely court yard inclosed from the street and traffic. We talked to the owner several times and he was very nice.
Great price, great location, nicely furnished, kitchenette, washer/dryer, hot tub, Wi-Fi, and pet friendly...it almost sounds too good to be true.
The best part is, it is absolutely better than we could have ever expected! This is located on the gorgeous Marmaduke estate. The carriage house we stayed in is in the back of the garden area with a beautiful wrought iron stairway leading up to it. The carriage house has two units, we stayed in Unit B, which is a wonderful, private and romantic getaway.
The Marmaduke estate is centrally located within the historic district in Savannah. Close by are nice restaurants, bars and many historical places you would want to visit. Around the corner is the Parker's Market (an upscale convenience store) so you can pick up goodies for eating, snacking and cocktail hour. We recommend you bring your swimsuit, as the hot tub is a great place to relax after spending your day walking around the city.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely! However, next time we'd like to bring our friends and rent the house, which looks really nice.
