So far, my favorite place to stay in Savannah. Nothing negative about this Inn. Great location, great accommodations, wonderful staff.

We were married in Savannah and wanted to go back for our 1 year anniversary and stay somewhere special. The Hamilton Turner was a very good choice for us. It is nicely located between Forsyth Park and River Street so you can walk to both with a serene square right across the street. The owners were very hospitality, serving a very tasty and plentiful breakfast. The staff provided the right balance of attentiveness and hospitality, but didn't overdo it. We stayed in the cottage house, separate from the main house, which was nice and quiet, not the most expensive and expansive rooms there, but it served us well.

Stayed in the Juliette Gordon Low Room at the Hamilton Turner House May 14-16, and had a wonderful time. The owners were most gracious and accomodating. As an early riser, I was very pleased to find coffee available at 7 a.m. along with newspapers. The breakfasts were delicious--slurge and enjoy them while in Savannah! The location was perfect, facing Lafayette Square and the Cathedral. I would certainly stay here again while visiting Savannah.

There is wide variation in the quality of the rooms at the Hamilton-Turner. The high-priced rooms on the second and third-floors are spacious and richly decorated, with luxurious bathrooms and beautiful furnishings. The cheaper rooms on the lower floor (basement) are small, dark, and quite shabby by comparison, and, at $200 a night, they are terribly over-priced. We spent one night in the Flannery O’Connor room in the carriage house which was a better value for $200. Though it is very small, it is prettily-decorated, with a Jacuzzi tub and French doors opening onto a patio.

Food is not a strength. The breakfasts were not restaurant-quality, more like the kind of eggs and pancakes you might make for casual houseguests. (Nightly turn-down treats were overcooked chocolate chip cookies).

In its favor, the inn is across the street from a lovely square, and the building is a handsome old mansion that will look great in your photos.
