The decor is very European. It is not your traditional looking place- rooms are very cool and the layout is efficient with use of sliding doors. The lobby was well done, clean lines, open, and clean. You are a 5-10 minute walk to the river. All this for under $130 a night!! I will definitely stay there again!!

My husband, step daughter and I spent three nights here in between Christmas and New Year's. It's a lovely hotel and a good value. The staff is very friendly. They were understaffed the day we checked in but the front desk clerk was doing her best to get everything handled and stayed pleasant throughout.
The room was good. We had a whirlpool suite. The whirlpool is smack in the middle of the room so you will be bathing with the family if you use it. The only downsides to the room were :
1. only 1 tv and when you have a suite set up it's nice to have one in the bedroom as well. You could turn it towards the bedroom but in order to hear it was too loud for the person sleeping on the sofa bed
2. The bathroom set up is odd. There is a separate room for the toilet - with a small sink. That's nice but due to space constraints it means that one whole wall is just doors- 1 for the toilet, 1 for the closet , 1 for the shower. These were all pocket doors that you pull shut and you need to do it carefully or they slide open which can make for quite the "reveal" while you're in the bathroom.
They offer the standard complimentary breakfast items and the staff working in that area was also very friendly and helpful.
Housekeeping didn't get to our room before 3 both days but they were thorough. I think that here too they were understaffed.
The hotel is convenient to all the major attractions and there is a friendly and helpful concierge on staff. The parking is a little pricey but you are downtown and parking is a scare commodity so it's not unexpected.
Overall we liked it- 10 year old LOVED it - the whirlpool made her very happy. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: If you want a whirlpool room be aware that it's in the middle of the room .

nisajoy,

Thank you for staying with us, and for posting your review on our TripAdvisor Page! We appreciate your comments and we are happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay. I apologize that the hotel seemed understaffed during your stay, but I am happy that the staff was thorough and pleasant throughout your time here. I will have the Engineering staff look into the issue with the doors opening to the restroom while guests are using them, as this may be an issue with the tracks. Thank you for sharing your Room Tip with our future guests, these tips are valuable information!

We appreciate your comments and hope to see you again soon!

Just spent New Years weekend at the Springhill, and very enjoyable experience, especially, the staff. Tatianna was most helpful in securing our last minute reservation for New Year's eve. They appeared to be a little understaffed during checkin, but she did an excellent job under all the pressure. Judy in the concierge desk was outstanding! She made our reservations for dinner at the Chart House on the river with a window seat, and our trolley tour on Old Savannah Tours (recommend). She even got us a two day pass at a discounted one day rate. She just made the whole trip wonderful!!!
The room was very comforable with a separate living room with desk. Great for business travel & entertaining. Like the separate toilet & shower areas. It is a more modern motif, so it really doesn't fit into the Savannah historic architecture, however, it is very clean & spacious.
they have valet parking only for $15.00 per day. This is really not bad in an area where parking is at a premium. only issue is trying to get access to your car. There is no real access except going down a fairly steep driveway, and then you are suppose to be escorted. Really shouldn't complain, as it very secure and safe. The valets were very helpful & courteous.
It is very easy to access from I-16, and the location is easily within walking distance to the City Market and the River areas.
Savannah is a very charming city. I would highly recommend this hotel, and the whole Savannah experience.

Room Tip: the pool & whirlpool are located on the second floor, if you have kids.

I'm happy that Judy was able to plan such a fun-filled trip to Savannah for you! Old Savannah Tours are a great way to see the city.

Stayed here for 1 night only. Room was very comfortable with great extras, like separate toilet areas, and a small living room with nice desk and sofa. It also had a convenient mini fridge, microwave and coffee station area. Lobby area was really nice, modern and spacious. Free wi-fi in the room, great! Staff was friendly and valet parking very convenient. They have free coffee and tea at lobby area always, which I think is very nice.

When you drive up, the valet takes your car. It cost $15.00 a day but with little parking around that's a deal and it's added to your bill, so it's easy. The checkin was a breeze. This is a new hotel and it was a busy time, full I think. They gave us a "handicapped suite", ok, that was not a problem. Actually it was great, huge room with 2 bathrooms, one for the bathing area and the other, well you know the other. The room had a desk, mini fridge, sofa, TV and 2 queen beds. Perfect! I called the front desk the next morning and said "can I have 1 box of tissues for each bathroom and the clock is set on daylight savings time and I can't seem to set it." Knock Knock 2 minutes later, one gentlemen delivered the tissues and then another came to set the clock. I called the concierge and asked for reservations for a certain restaurant and she told me no problem but "might I suggest a restaurant just across the street that is much better?" I almost didn't take the suggestion but in the end I did. Boy were grateful to her. One of the best meals and service ever. I'll write about them too in another post. Savannah is great. We even saw an unexpected gift, their downtown Christmas Parade. We'll visit again and stay here.

Islasusan,

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor! We are so happy that your check-in went quickly and smoothly during this very busy time. I am also happy that you enjoyed your suite. Our Accessible rooms are in fact larger than our standard rooms to accommodate and meet the ADA requirements and expectations!

I am so proud to hear that our staff met all of your needs quickly and efficiently during your stay. Our Concierge staff is one of our greatest assets in the hotel because they have the ability to find hidden gems in Savannah that are off the beaten path. We are thrilled that they sent you to a restaurant that you enjoyed so much!

Since you've now been in the winter, I definitely recommend coming to visit Savannah again in the Spring or Fall when the azaleas are blooming! Thank you again for your review, and we hope to see you again soon!

Sincerely,
Lee Smith - General Manager
