From check in to check out my stay at the Bohemian Hotel in Savannah, GA was excellent and it wasn't my first. The people were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and quite. There was a problem with the light switch in the bathroom and it was fixed very quickly. When I called one night about a noisy neighbor, the security team addressed it quickly and professionally. The roof top bar is a cool place to view the city, have a drink and meet some very friendly people. Service is great there too and not pushy. The restaurant in the lower level is good for breakfast, although I recommend getting there early for breakfast as others in my group felt the service was slow later in the morning. You can't beat the location as everything seems within walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: River view rooms are a bit more expensive but worth the price as they have small balconies overlooki...

This was a great romantic trip last year... Cant stop thinking how much fun we had there so we though we would post this... This hotel is one of the most unique places we have visited.. For a romatic getaway reccommend it! The city offers so many choices for for as well all within walking distance of the hotel. Vics on the river was our favorite!

Room Tip: Get the corner room with the floor to ceiling windows! Its worth the little extra you pay...

This is a combined business / pleasure trip. The experience started when I was greeted very nicely by Lavernitra at the guest reception desk. Even though we arrived early Lavernitra searched her room inventory and gave us a very nice room. It is so appreciated. I cannot say enough nice things about how special Lavernitra was to both me and my wife / mother in law as we checked in and out.
What made this trip special is that my mother in law (at 94) was born here in Savannah and this could be her last trip here. The staff, to a person, were most warm and accommodating. When my mother in law asked about an old address where she had once lived, Shonde, the bar tender went very far out of her way (with a fairly full bar) to locate a map. Shonde was most patient and kind.
Seems like everytime we used the elevator we bumped into a staff member. Each and every staff member was most pleasant. Just a smile and a kind comment makes your day go well, especially after a 9 hour busy business day. This happened without exception with every staff member.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. Some Ritz properties could learn from your staff!

Room Tip: we were in 304, great view. Close to river and street.

This place is really over the top nice. I've stayed at several different places downtown and I'll have to say this is one of my favorite. The place is decorated very nicely and the staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. We had a room with a balcony and the view of the river was really nice. We also visited the rooftop bar in the hotel and the drinks were excellent. The appetizers were average. We did get very good service at the bar and they have outside seating which was nice. We were close to everything in the downtown area and we were able to walk to the restaurant we had dinner at. We will stay at the bohemian our next trip to Savannah, GA! I will say it is a little expensive but worth it!

Room Tip: Get a room with a river view. Well worth it!

We stayed at The Bohemian for 5 nights. It's a beautiful hotel right on the river and we had an upper floor (7th) corner, riverfront room. The hotel throughout is lovely and "bohemian" certainly does apply here. Artwork is beautiful and unique, furnishings as well. The service throughout was excellent...all staff were very friendly and helpful. However, there are a few tweaks that this hotel could use. Our room was fairly small (the bathroom was quite large, however, with beautiful stone and marble floors and shower). There was no mini-fridge and no table or chairs at which to sit if one so desired (we had a king bed, 2 night tables, bureau, and computer chair and desk). Likewise, there was no hotel in-room guide telling of the hotel's services. There was a small balcony, but only large enough to stand on for viewing the river (not for sitting on, even if there were a chair that we could have moved out onto the balcony). Charging $5 for a bottle of water (in your room) is a bit much, or so we thought. Excellent, fluffy robes and great Bose sound system. Someone wrote that there was no in-room safe, which was not the case with us (it was located in the closet, of course.) However, this is still a great place...conveniently located with beautiful furnishings and helpful, efficient staff. Rocks on the River restaurant (1st floor) has a great brunch (be aware that alcohol is not served there on Sundays until 12:30 pm) and a MUST is to visit Rocks on the Roof for cocktails or tapas. We hit a snag during our visit on a Saturday night (reservation snafu...long story), but the night was literally saved by the staff at Rocks on the Roof. When it was apparent that we had no decent restaurant to go to on a Saturday night (when every restaurant in Savannah is PACKED) we schlepped back to our hotel and decided to ask the concierge if there was any way we could make reservations, on short notice, at Rocks on the River. As luck had it, the manager of Rocks on the ROOF was at the concierge desk and took the matter in hand. She went to the restaurant to investigate what was available...returned to tell us that they had nothing available until 10pm (which was fine by us, as we are later diners...the place was also packed that night...she made us the 10 o'clock reservations), but that in the meantime, she would escort us to Rocks on the Roof lounge, if we were interested, where she would get us a table while we waited. This was FANTASTIC!! Rocks on the Roof packs folks in especially on weekend nights (we were astounded to see so many folks clamoring to get in from just off the street on a Friday night), but thanks to the helpful manager of Rocks on the Roof, she took us up, got us a great table for two, and paired us with a most wonderful and efficient waitress. We were having such a good time that we cancelled the reservations to Rocks on the River for dinner and decided to just have drinks and tapas...the band playing was great too! All in all, the Bohemian is a great place that I would visit again...they just need to tweak a few things.

We loved every aspect of our stay in this hotel. Stayed on the 7th floor riverfront. The view was nice but what we loved more was the ability to open french doors to get the wonderful fresh February air!! The roof top restaurant was great - and the staff friendly and efficient.

We stayed at The Bohemian for a night on our way back to Atlanta after a golfing holiday in South Carolina, during which time we had also taken the opportunity to visit Savannah's great rival and sister antebellum city, Charleston. We had picked The Bohemian because of its location (great) and because of its boutique style (also great).

Our room was comfortable and trendy, with a balcony overlooking the river. But there were also some surprising omissions: no in-room safe, for example, and no minibar or fridge in which to store my partner's insulin. Also, no in-room guide to the hotel's sevrices, so that we had to make a special trip down to reception to find out our check-out time. Yes, we had a Bose music centre in the room and fluffy bathrobes, but on the whole we would have swapped those for the sort of customer service we experienced at our Hampton Inn in Charleston's historic quarter, where staff at the front desk on check-in provided us with maps of the city, helpful tips on nearby restaurants and, most particularly, a timetable for that city's excellent free trolley service ... it was only during a late-night walk down Bay Street in Savannah, having remarked on how Charleston seemed to have an edge over its rival with its free trolley service, that we noticed a trolley stop advertising (yes, you've guessed it), exactly the same free service for visitors. How nice it would have been if we'd been alerted of that fact in time to take advantage of it.

Overall, chic as it was in terms of cutting-edge decor, we felt we were paying for style at The Bohemian rather than substance.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room overlooking the river.
