Amber and John are amazing people ( the owners). We made reservations ona whim and we areso glad that we did. We felt like we had walked into out favorite neighborhood hangout with a,ain't food. We wanted the scallops, but asked Forrest the chef to create his own concoction and he gave us a meal to love! You will not go wrong having a meal here and tel Amber hi from us!

“French food? good. French portions? horrible.”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

So...another restaurant week deal and a group of friends was going to be a good time. Well, it started out ok. The servers were nice enough. They took our orders and knew who had ordered what with relative ease. Now, not all of us had ordered off of the "restaurant week" menu, so I know it wasn't just because we were "being cheap". My food serving was pretty small. It looked as if they were trying "haute cuisine" on a budget. The taste was decent, but not worth the $30 I paid for the meal. My Beef Wellington had almost NO flavor. One of my friends, on the other had, looked like he was stuck in a dinner version of a part of Alice in Wonderland, as his appetizer was small enough. His entree was even smaller (isn't the entree always supposed to be bigger than the appetizer?). Then, his dessert was the size of a small girl's tea party set (a little bit bigger than a quarter in diameter and about an inch deep. I am sorry, but the food would have to have been the best meal I had ever tasted in order to give this experience anything more than an average rating. All in all, do NOT eat here if you want a comforting, filling meal. And you can get more flavor from a Mexican restaurant...ANY Mexican restaurant.

“Quality French Food - Southern Style”
Reviewed 22 August 2013 via mobile

Returned to Brasserie after a 1 1/2 yr hiatus and was happy to find that they still serve excellent French food with a southern lean. The Foie Gras and duck confit were fantastic as well as the entrées of duck served over collard greens and lobster-scallops over risotto. The salads were from fresh local produce and each was special using fruit and seafood in great combinations. The waiter was knowledgeable and very pleasant. The atmosphere is quiet and well decorated while still being casual. The service was perfectly timed as the waiter correctly judged our dining "speed" - very attentive. The price, while not cheap, was very appropriate for the quality of the experience. If you are looking for a nice dining experience with inventive French/Savannah cuisine in a comfortable setting then Brasserie is for you. One of their other important pluses is that they have a private, off- street parking lot right next to the restaurant - something important to consider when dining in downtown Savannah.

“Great staff, great food”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

We have been here several times for a last minute dinner date and special occasions. The food is always on point and the menu changes seasonally. I often recommend it to random people I see wandering around downtown.

“I love this place!”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

One of my all time faves. If you are in Savannah don't miss it. It's a little off the beaten path and not as crowded as the tourist traps which adds to the charm. We've been there several times and have never had anything but great food. Almost everything on the menu is local farm to table. Our favorite I think are the sweetbreads but it's hard to choose just one favorite. Starting with fresh bread made in house with butter and smoked salt, then mussels and turtle soup. The salads are great and the entrees that we have tried include rabbit/hare, lamb, frog legs, duck, marrow, and hanger steak. Again don't miss this one.
