Very pleased with My stay. The Ambiance of the inn and our room was more than I had expected. The room was very cozy and furnished very nicely and in keeping with the theme. The afternoon reception in the lobby bar was fun and the basement restaurant was again nicely decorated in keeping with the Inn theme.

We have enjoyed Savannah numerous times over the past 20 plus years. Based on the reviews and the special pricing, we decided to try East Bay Inn on the trip, and we are glad we did. The room and the staff were great, breakfast was very good, and the parking deal is hard to beat (can't believe more historic district hotels don't provide that city pass). Did not get a chance to enjoy the afternoon wine and cheese but we'll look forward to that next time.

Room Tip: We booked a "cozy queen" in the back based on other recommendations. It was quiet as adve...

The East Bay Inn is an exceptional choice when visiting the Savannah area. We were in a Deluxe King, and the room was very roomy, nice, and accomodating. The historical quality of the Inn is intact, and the location is outstanding on Bay Street. It's in very comfortable walking distances from all the river area has to offer, and to most of the historical area squares and famous homes. The rates were very comparable to any of the local hotes, and you get so much more at the B&B's. Great choice for a weekend getaway.

Room Tip: The East facing rooms seemed to get an unusual acoustic amplification of voices on the street sidewa...

East Bay Hotel was fun and comfortable. You will love the wine and cheese in the afternoon. Nice touch and a chance to meet others staying at the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was great down at Skylers. Staff was helpful, knowledgeable and fun.

Excellent location. Very nice breakfast. Staff all first rate. This was the first time for me, and second time for my wife. We were quite pleased with the room, which was quiet and well appointed. The room was a bit small, but the information supplied on the website was accurate regarding this.

Room Tip: Ask for back side away from street for quietness.

We stayed in one of the Superior Queen rooms overlooking the front of the hotel. Gorgeous high ceilings and exposed brick walls. Nice big bathrooms. Soft robes and towels. Comfortable beds. Turn down service (with mint!). Valet service to your room. We didn't take advantage of it, but they also allow dogs!

They provided a huge packet of tourist stuff - map, brochures - for planning and getting around. They're right across from the riverfront so there was a lot of activity and places to see and eat.

The breakfast is buffet style and a little pedestrian, but good.

The only downside is that the hotel is a little noisy. We could hear all the activity on the street and the people staying in the room next to ours. We like hustle and bustle (and are heavy sleepers) so the noise did not bother us, but it's something to be aware of.

We stayed here 12/25 and 12/26 2013. On arrival the receptionist seemed to be having a grumpy day, didn’t seem to want to be there – and it was Christmas! After getting off on this wrong foot (and we noted it with comments to the hotel website) staff went out of their way to be nice, welcoming, and offered very engaged service and genuinely seemed to care, kudos for a service turnaround. Hotel location is great; walking distance to the restaurants, a park across the street, and historic points of interest.
This is an old building; they have done a decent job converting it to a hotel. Our room was pretty dark but good lighting is provided to offset this. Room 101 is a great room for dog owners as there is an enclosed private patio in back – this is very spartan; simply bricks, a dirt border (some plants in there would be nice). Ice was close by, yet far enough there was no noise from it. The hardwood floors throughout the hotel are very attractive, but the people above us sounded like a tap dance convention at times – sound carries. We could also hear the elevator, a gentle rumble now and then.
A decent breakfast is offered; scrambled eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee, yogurt, cereal, etc. There is also a nice wine + cheese reception evenings; jug wine and standard (cheddar/jalapeno jack) cheeses and crackers, but it provided a nice opportunity to socialize with other guests in a very nice setting.
Recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling with pets. They are very accepting of pets, there is a park directly across the street, you can walk with your pet through the historic district and squares as the hotel is pretty centrally located in this area. The historic district in Savannah is in demand, so parking can be a challenge, however, we did not have any problems and found a space at the hotel each night.

Room Tip: 101 is good for travellers with pets.
