“Historic District stay in Savannah”

Melvin the Bellman was awesome and made you feel welcome from the start! Very cute bed and breakfast. Rooms were decent sized and the beds were very comfortable. Really cool brick exposed walls inside the room!! My only complaint was the edges of the room needed to be vacuumed better. They had a nightly turn down service and filled your ice bucket for you. They had an evening wine and cheese gathering and this was a great place to find out from the staff where we should eat for the night. The breakfast was a mix of dry cereals, whole fruit, yogurts, bagels and toast and they had hot items like eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits and grits every morning. When the biscuits and ham are fresh they are amazing! This is in a great location to cross the street over to the River where all the fun restaurants, bars, and shops are located. We found a few local spots we loved that the staff gave us suggestions on. Also a heads up...this B&B has limited parking. We were told our room had a ghost but didn't see or hear of one... if that interest you or if it doesn't ask which rooms do in advance.

We usually stay at larger chain hotels while traveling but this time decided to stay in a "boutique" hotel while staying overnight in Savannah with friends. I had read good reviews about the East Bay Inn so decided to try this Inn. This was the BEST decision that we made! Our "cozy queen" room was beautiful, filled with antiques and had one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in. Do not miss the evening wine and cheese reception before you head out to one of Savannah's great restaurants. You will meet fellow travelers who are more than willing to share their favorite places in Savannah. The morning complimentary breakfast was delicious and included hot foods. The Inn is located in the historic section of Savannah and we were able to park our car and walk to restaurants and shops. All of the staff at the Inn were warm, welcoming and ready to assist in anyway possible but I have to single out Sheila at the front desk. She had a packet of information ready when we arrived so to make best use of our time in Savannah. She recommended things to do and confirmed our reservations for an evening ghost tour. You could tell that she loved her job and loved Savannah! She really made our time at the East Bay Inn and Savannah something special!!

This was our second time to stay in this lovely Inn. It was just as wonderful the second time as the first. The staff here is very friendly and helpful and are knowledgable of the best places to visit while you are in the area. You will love the wine and cheese in the afternoon and the time to visit with other people that are staying in the Inn.

I would recommend this as a place to stay and will say we will stay here again when we return.

P.S. Say Hi to Charlie the ghost for us.

I arrived late at night and found the East bay Inn, I had a very large room, very high ceilings and all period furniture and huge bed, maybe to many cushions on the bed to make it look good but had to take them all off to get in to the bed, breakfast was self service souther type food, but could have been a bit warmer, but all very nice , but could not afford to stay more than one night at $260... but a welcome break from the grime of travel

Very pleased with My stay. The Ambiance of the inn and our room was more than I had expected. The room was very cozy and furnished very nicely and in keeping with the theme. The afternoon reception in the lobby bar was fun and the basement restaurant was again nicely decorated in keeping with the Inn theme.
