“Good enough..”

I stayed here for my sons ROV competition. Room was a large corner room. Clean. Two LCDs. No complaints. Hotel has a unique design. Some rooms could be noisy. It all depends on what convention is in town. Breakfast is lacking though. I walked across the street to the Omellete House which was fine. I would stay here again.

The place is a little old, a little shopworn, and has some oddities; like, the counters and toilets are lower than normal. The air conditioner was a cycling a lot, but I put in on "constant fan," and that worked. The people were very nice, there was a nice couch, desk, chairs, lots of lamps, a large enough counter in the bathroom (though the commode & shower compartment was a bit small). The non-HD TV was good enough. The continental breakfast was adequate enough-good if you like to make your own waffles. The front desk staff were excellent, competent, and knowledgeable. We would stay here again if we return to Savannah, because it's a good location about 10-15 minutes from anywhere in the historic district.

We stayed here on a Wednesday night because my husband was ill and we needed to see doctors the next day. It was a last minute reservation but the staff was very kind and helpful during this stressful time. We stayed in a very nice two room suite - it had a sofa bed, chair, TV, kitchenette in one room, & king size bed with desk in other room. My favorite part was the large bathtub with jets - very relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable. We did come back and stay two weeks later because my husband had to have surgery. We will definitely come back to this Inn on a more pleasant trip!!

if you tire of the generic hotels I think you would be happy of this charming hotel that has personality and feels like an inn rather than hotel....its about 15 min. drive from downtown, but you'll never get the value you get from ogelthorpe...its 3 stories, with the balcony around the atrium made with faux wrought iron...very large rooms.....extremely friendly front staff (namely Kelly) who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable....if you love southern cooking ther are at least good restaurants 3 min. drive away (sweet potatoes & sisters)...they are not fancy restaurants...just good food....also if you have a bit of time for shopping, you have marshalls, bed/bath beyond and I think tj maxx.....breakfast the same as any other hotel...nothing too exciting....you can't have it all (some of their rooms were under $60.00).....

Room Tip: you are in historic savannah...choose a hotel that reflects that at a very reasonable rate....

We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. We had a King Suite and had plenty of room, it almost felt like a little apartment. Even though the building is older it was very well maintained, we had a nice big comfortable bed, nice flat screen tv with plenty of channels and fast wifi. The location was great with lot's of shopping right across the street and plenty of restaurants to choose from within a very close distance. The historic district was not within walking distance but a very short drive and easy to get to. I just loved the inside courtyard where breakfast was served, it had a glass elevator that went up to the 3rd floor. Each floor was open to the courtyard and had an iron railing, and each floor had it's own little seating area in each corner, very charming and unique, it really had a very wonderful old Southern feel to it. Breakfast had lot's of choices and plenty of seating, and because of the very reasonable price it was a great value and a much better experiance than staying at a chain hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and check in and out went smoothly. If you want to feel that Southern hospitality and atmosphere this is the perfect place.

The hotel is not in the pricey downtown area, maybe about 6 miles to get there, but is a better place to stay compared to everything else we saw and researched. There are lots of cheap motels in the area that mostly cost more. The place is pretty and nicely kept with friendly and helpful staff. Every room is a suite... At less than the price of a motel room. Breakfast is nothing to get excited about and there is no covered parking, but the low price, nice rooms and pleasant stay make this place a good choice. We'll stay there again.

The king size bedroom we had was very neat and clean. Along with the bedroom there was a nice sitting area containing the refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom (toilet and shower) is separated with a door that gives privacy from the twin sinks with a large mirror. One person is able to use the bathroom facilities in private while the other is using the vanity area. Kelly at the front desk is one of the friendliest and most helpful I have experienced in a long time. The only drawback is the AC was a wall unit in the bedroom and I'm not sure if it it would be adequate in the heat of midsummer to cool the entire room. Our stay was short and in March so I wouldn't be able to judge that accurately. I would gladly come back again.
