In that our hotel was directly across the street from this magnificent park, we were in it or crossing it everyday. Every city should have something like this - from its famous fountain, to historical monuments, large playgrounds and open areas for many different functions, café, rest rooms, stage areas for music festivals, etc..

“A must see unless it is too hot”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

This beautiful park is a landmark of the city as it should be. Take a stroll around the fountains, get married here, get some great photos and grab some lunch at the Mansion or in the pavilion.
On a beautiful day there isn't anything better than this park!

“Beautiful park to relax or walk”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

This park is lovely! The fountain is beautiful and the shaded areas are wonderful for a leisurely stroll. There's a little cafe near the play area where you can grab a snack and drink for a nice break on the benches to people-watch or enjoy a picnic. Restrooms are also available in the cafe. This is a beautiful part of Savannah history that you do not want to miss!

What a lovely park in the middle of historic Savannah. The fountain was so beautiful from all angles. We witnessed a few weddings in and around this fountain and I'm sure the wedding photos that were taken on the day turned out excellent for all the happy couples. The beautiful trees were so huge and their branches expanded so far out there was plenty of shade to be had.
Lots of open spaces as well.
There is certainly a lot of history connected to the park and not all peaceful. A lot of sad things occurred during the war and thankfully this history is being preserved and retold to all visitors who venture there. I suggest a trolley tour to take advantage of the history of the park.
