Ms. Harriet Meyerhoff took two of us on a tour of Savannah personalized to our interests, and we could not have asked for a better tour. Ms. Meyerhoff has been involved in restoring historic Savannah and seems to know everything and everybody, historically and currently. I'm sure she could give a simple overview tour, but better to take advantage of her vast knowledge of the community and ask her to include aspects of particular interest to you. Savannah is a very old city for the United States and has had a complex history, so there are many aspects of the community that she can tell you about -- in addition to colonial times, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, there's African American, Jewish, Methodist, mercantile and shipping, even Girl Scout history in Savannah, and it's all fascinating when explained by Harriet Meyerhoff. Also, important for a tour guide, Harriet is a good driver. She picked us up at our hotel, and let us off where we chose at the end of the tour. She is a great ambassador for Savannah!
