“Excellent example of historic architecture”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

We went by this theater while walking throught the historice district of Savannah. A tour guide told us it had undergone a restoration in the 1990's. A large donation was made by Tom Hanks, but he didn't want his name listed on the commemorative bricks on the sidewalk....be sure to look for the brick with Forrest Gump's name on it instead of Tom Hanks.

“Meet the Beatles!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Had a great time at this show. The group, "1964 The Tribute", was terrific but the theatre is the main star. Beautifully restored, right in downtown, plenty of parking all around, it all really comes together. Easy walk to Broughton St. restaurants and to River St for a stroll before or after. They do not gouge you for beer or wine (both $4) and there really are no bad seats.

“Great place to see a movie on the big screen!!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and had planned on going to see a movie several weeks but didn't make. We did make it see "Blazing Saddles". Really enjoyed the experience of watching on the big screen in the historic Lucas Theatre. They have popcorn, candy, soda, beer, and wine available. Discounts up 30 minutes prior to show on food and drinks. Student and military prices for tickets. For what it costs to see current movies, this is a great way to see movies never got to see on the big screen before. They also give history on the movie showing before it starts. Had a great time and will certainly go again!

“Very pleasant experience”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

We drove from Atlanta to Savannah to see the production " Into the Woods ". This was a production preformed by the SCAD preforming arts department. Wonderful talent. Some of these students will one day work on Broadway. A parking deck is just a block away. Plenty of eating places near by. A must see in Savannah, Ga

“Beautifully Restored Theater”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

Saw Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder with Sierra Hull here the last week of March. It's beautiful on the inside, seats about 1,200 people, and the acoustics are terrific! Love to see these old theaters restored to their original grandeur!
