“No thanks”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

A hard-to-locate "garden" off of a rather gross thoroughfare. It reminds me of rather small gardens strung together with no rhyme or reason, or much thought/design. Maybe the rose garden is nice in April and May, but stuff is hack-pruned, overgrown or the new kids garden is just laughable. Thank goodness no fee, but save your time and effort and just go to Hester and Zipperer Nursery instead.

“Savannah Gardens”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

My husband and I visited the gardens on a weekday and practically had the place to ourselves. It was very tranquil even though it is near two major roadways. The gardens are attended by local garden clubs, and some obviously get more care than others. If you're nearby, certainly stop and smell the flowers, but I'm not sure it's worth the journery specifically to just see the gardens.

“A pretty little retreat”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

If you have a half an hour and are looking for something away from the hustle and bustle choose this garden. It doesn't take very long to tour but has some pretty gardens. There is a lot of community pride in this garden, which is refreshing. It is quite far from the historic downtown. We took a bus from riverfront and it took about 45 minutes. The farm house is restored and is quite nice! We went during the rose festival in April but the roses were just starting to bloom, May is probably the best time to visit.

“Take Time to Stop and Smell the Roses”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

Upon pulling into the parking lot of the Savannah Botanical Gardens, you get the impression the place is small and there is not much to it. Wrong! What you do not realize is that it goes pretty far back and has all kinds of paths and trails leading around the beautiful vistas.

I would say 30-45 minutes is all you need to leisurely stroll around to enjoy the birds, the bees, and the butterflies or maybe hangout by the lake. Just make sure you take time to stop and smell the roses!

“Rose Garden with potential”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

They were having a little Saturday Market when we were visiting so there were booths with handmade items and beverages available. We met the caretaker and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Roses were not completely in bloom, but they were still worth seeing. There were walking trails down by the river that displayed lots of colorful Iris’. They also grow many kinds of herbs. This was a very relaxing place to take a short stroll, stop and smell the roses!
