I recently stayed at this hotel with my two children. From the moment we arrived, I was so impressed with the staff and how beautiful and clean this hotel was. Every area of the hotel is beautifully decorated (I felt like we were staying at the Ritz). The complimentary Happy Hour and Breakfast were both so nice. We stayed last week at the new Embassy Suites in downtown Savannah. The Hotel is an easy 10~15 minute stroll to the River Street area (or a $5.00 cab ride). The hotel is located one street from the visitors center and trolley tours. There are several restaurants in close proximity. The hotel and room was immaculate. Even though the hotel was full (spring break), the staff, breakfast, and evening reception was outstanding. One of the most positive points is the friendliness of ALL the staff! A special thanks to Latoya (who check us in) and my new "best friend" Mr. Blue the Valet. I travel over 200 nights per year, and this is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed at.
Friendly staff that attempted to deal with an unruly guest in the next room. Would definitely stay again. Room was clean and comfortable, and the lobby/entrance area was beautiful and inviting. Location was very centralized with lots of local attractions.
The wife and I choose this hotel based on complimentary services and its location. The Trolley used for tours are down the block and the hotel was neat & clean. Room layout was superb and offered plenty of room for a 4-5 person family to stay.
We stayed for two nights at this very new property. The room was in excellent condition and had plenty of room for the four of us (2 adults and 2 teens). The bathroom was very large and well appointed. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the evening happy hour and breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was plentiful and they have cooked to order omlettes which are delivered directly to your table so you don't need to stand and wait for them to be cooked. My daughter and I relaxed at the pool one afternoon which was lovely. They even have a fire pit though we were not around in the evening to enjoy it.
All of the staff was delightful and tried to be as helpful as possible. However, the hotel does seem to be understaffed in the evening. The lady at the registration desk was trying to juggle guests at the registration desk and answering the phones all by herself. Also, I think that Embassy Suites needs to provide better training for their employees manning the front desk in the evening when the concierge is not on duty. We got the exact same restaurant suggestions from everyone we spoke to at the front desk which I thought was kind of odd-as if they had been told to recommend those particular restaurants. Again, the staff was extremely nice, but the responsibility rests with Embassy Suites to provide the proper training.
The property is located at the edge of the historic district, but it is only a short walk to everywhere you will want to visit in the historic district. Some people mentioned the bus terminal near the hotel in their reviews. We had no problem with it and felt quite safe walking around the area even at night. The sightseeing trolley depots and visitor center is just around the corner which is very convenient.
I would highly recommend this property and if we are fortunate enough to visit Savannah again in the future I would not hesitate to stay here again.
It's a wonderful new hotel in the heart of the city. Super clean, super new, with an included free made-to-order breakfast. Good price too. Highly recommended. I still am not a fan of the Embassy pillows - too fluffy - but other than that, it's a great stay.
