Mansion on Forsyth Park is located near beautiful Forsyth Park in Savannah in the Historic district. It is a very romantic part of the city. The hotel is very historic looking- older American style. It is done well, very classy and well kept. You will feel pampered. The staff is very friendly, and you really get the southern Hospitality. The room was big, and well kept. My wife kept commenting on how good it smelled. It was a very relaxing stay. If you like American history, and enjoy the look of old American homes/architecture, you will love Savannah and you will love this place

We have NEVER stayed in a five-star hotel but decided to splurge for one night in Savannah. The valet and porter were very friendly, the person at the desk rather cool and stand-offish. Walking down the halls was creepy...lots of weird acrylic paintings, very gaudy and even unsettling. At first impression we were delighted with the room...deep soaking tub with doors that opened to the bedroom, along with a separate shower, a Keurig coffee-maker and view to the lovely pool and waterfall courtyard. But on closer inspection, there was a sticky coffee or soda stain on the rug and the top of the mirrored end table was cracked and broken. When I tried to use the coffee maker it shot boiling water out at me like a water pistol!
The service person did come up shortly after we called to replace the coffee machine and we appreciated the kind attention she gave to us.
We visited the wine bar/bistro in the other wing of the building (we had to go outside and through a courtyard to get to it) and the service there was also attentive and lovely. But there was no music and again, it just felt kind of cold and creepy. Drinks were VERY expensive there.
The hotel is located across the street from Forsyth Park, which is quite lovely but also rather removed from attractions and activities. The hotel was quiet and we did get a good night's sleep, but we were glad we had a car!
Overall, the Mansion hotel was not worth the money we spent. For a lesser amount we could have chosen one of the smaller, historic bed and breakfasts in Savannah for a true sense of this beautiful city.

We enjoyed this hotel. The building is decorated tastefully, full of Southern charm. Rooms are very nice with oversized tubs. Valet parking was expensive at $20/night, compared with other places we stayed on our trip. We assumed check-out time was noon when it was actually 11, and the front desk was very understanding about our error. Overall, a good hotel. I would return but I wouldn't rave about it fanatically.

My husband and I stayed at the Kessler Mansion on Forsyth August 3-5 and it was wonderful. The place is opulent and the room exquisite. We were on the third floor and although we did not have a jacuzzi tub, it was a soaking tub with large hinged doors in the wall that opened into the bedroom. We could soak and watch TV if we wished. Separate shower and commode with frosted glass doors, beautiful fixtures throughout, fabulous bed and luxury linens. We actually paid only $135.00 a night (AAA rate). Forsyth park is across the street and a lovely place to stroll. Breakfast at 300 Drayton (their restaurant) was a real treat....I recommend the peach french toast with vanilla compote....and the breakfast was not overly priced, surprisingly reasonable for such an upscale place. Our waitress was terrific, as was every other staff member. They couldn't do enough for us.The $20 parking is a slight drawback but it is valet and if you call down before you need your car it is waiting for you. Also, they have their own shuttle "on demand" which will take you downtown, and several of the tour buses stop right there. I will never be able to stay anywhere else in Savannah.
For places to eat, etc. be sure to go to the sister hotel, The Kessler Bohemian, which is near the Hyatt on the river. Go to their rooftop lounge and watch the sunset and the cargo ships on the river. You may charge your tab to your room at the Mansion on Forsyth! I recommend the Kessler Savignon Blanc, which Kessler named after one of his favorite artists. Delicious and reasonably priced. For downtown "grab a beer" try the Warehouse. Very casual with pool tables and friendly barkeeps. The Six Pence Pub, which is not downtown but near one of the other squares, was also fun with great staff and interesting brews.
While visiting be sure to see St. John the Baptist church, which is breathtaking.
We will return to Savannah!

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Mansion. It was a pleasing place to stay. Food was wonderful and service grand. Rooms and pool too were very nice. We even had a massage there. It was heavenly.

Only downfall is you have to pay for parking or you have to park in the street. I ended up about 12 inches over a yellow line one night and it cost me $35. Parking also on the streets you have to make sure you are not parking in a nightly no parking zone.

This hotel is exceptional. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable - really really good. I have two girls 5 and 10 and felt having Forsyth Park right across the street very handy. The walk to all the shops near Bay Street is probably a good mile or so. This would probably be walkable if it wasn't hot hot hot August - lol. The rooms are spacious and comfy. We did not have a park view but I asked for one for my in-laws. Unfortunately the window was small and in the corner so not exactly what I had in mind. Seems that some of the other rooms might be better in that regard. Room 423 - small window park view - perhaps avoid this one. The hotel is very clean. I like the opulent feel - not just your standard chain hotel. This is also the quietest hotel we've stayed in over the last 10 years. Seems like we either hear the elevator, doors slam or loud hall talkers. We did not experience any of these here. It is so quiet and worth every cent. I'm very happy with my choice and would stay here again.

This place lives up to the expectation. We had a great stay. All aspects of service were great. The entire staff was very friendly. The artwork and decore are neat. The beds are very comfortable. If you spend a little extra money like we did, you can upgrade to a Delux Forsyth room which includes a large whirpool tub from which you can see the TV. Its the same price to valet your vehicle as it is park it yourself. I would highly suggest using the valet b/c you can call down from your room and they will have your vehicle waiting for you out front. It was very hot while we were there and they would have the A/C running when they gave us our vehicle. Another great feature is the hotel provides a free taxi service that will take you to and pick you up from any place in downtown Savannah. It runs until 10 pm but if you need a ride after that, you can call the hotel and they will call a local cab for you. The restaurant 700 Drayton that is attached to the hotel is great and I would Highly suggest doing the cooking school which was very informative and a lot of fun!!!!
