We stay at Hampton inn & Suites quite regularly, we actually seek them out becausof the bedding. I had never been disappointed before and have recently stayed in Indiana & a couple of places in Texas. This one was so bad we cancelled our stay there and went to the trouble of packing back up and moving down the st. The sign clearly states 100% guarantee on the counter but were not offered our points back. The bed hurt our backs, furniture was old and beatup, cracks everywhere in the bathroom. the breakfast had green bananas, old fruit, no waffle mix and staff said they didn't know when they would have any. The breakfast was bad. The staff was friendly and helpful but we had to get out! This is the first time we were disappointed with Hampton Inn

We were driving back froma Florida holiday and wanted to check out a possible summer rental on Tybee Island. I decided that since it was January we would try and stay in Savannah instead of out by the beaches. We drove to the downtown area and I saw the Hampton Inn sign so I went in and found they had a room available. The hotel is located directly next to the City Market area on the western end of the historic district. Our room was typical of the Hampton Inn & Suites, which means it was very well appointed.and had everything we needed. In addition the full breakfast that they provided is at the top of the hotel breakfasts I have experienced. But the real treat was that this property was developed in an exisitng building and the common areas are simply first class. The lounge area as well as the breakfast areas with their heart wood floors and antebellium theme are very well done. In addition the hotel is just one block from the City Market area. This provided a lovely walking opportunity for us before we selected one of the many restaurants for dinner. Location is always important but combining locatrion and atomsphere make this hotel a great choice. Finally the front desk clerk Jim is a fantastic ambassador for Hampton, lots of personality and very helpful.

Room Tip: Off street parking is limited. So check in early. I don't think there are any bad rooms.

Spent a great weekend in Savannah attending SCAD day for my daughter as we scoped out colleges. The hotel and staff were amazing. From early checkin to help with printing forms they all excelled in customer service. All were friendly smiling and knowledgeable about the city for us tourists.
The hotel was beautiful and licated near every thing.
Needlesd to say it will be my pick for visiting my SCAD bound daughter.

I took a gaggle of Girl Scouts to this hotel - a total of 9 girl and 8 mothers. They were sold out of rooms with double beds so we all had kings with pull-out couches. The rooms were clean and in good repair. The rooms were quite large, and included a coffee-maker, fridge, bar sink and microwave. They refreshed coffee daily and also included a bag of microwave popcorn. They offer free coffee and tea in the lobby all day and night, and have free chocolate-chip cookies at 4 and 7 pm.

A free breakfast is served daily (a nice option when traveling with kids) and included waffles, bacon/sausage, eggs, hot oatmeal and toppings, yogurt, cereal, muffins and bagels, fresh cut fruit, bananas, coffee with flavored creamers and tea. It gets crowded in the breakfast area but they seem to work to keep things filled and the tables clean.

Parking is a bit of a pain - they have a small lot and the overflow is across the street, but it's only a slight inconvenience. They do have an area for 10-minute parking to load an unload, as well as carts to help with luggage.

The staff seemed friendly and never appeared to be as exasperated as they must have felt at times. Many Girl Scout troops were staying there, as well as kids in town for a soccer tournament. Despite a lot of hallway activity (expected with so many kids staying there), the rooms were quiet and seemed well-insulated for noise.

I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Savannah. Although you are not right in the middle of the action, you are within a 10 minute walk of everything you would want to see. We found it to be a great value for our Troop.

Greetings,

We are so glad that your Girl Scout Troop enjoyed thier stay with us! We see Girl Scout Troops often at our property and truly enjoy having them here. We apologize for the parking incovenience. Our parking situation is only temporary, as we are building a brand new Embassy Suites hotel directly behind us. Thank you for being so understanding throughout our construction period and we will be sure to have ample parking for your next stay! :)

Thank you,

Management
