“On the Water with nice views”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

We had a great table with a view while the sun was setting. Their corn bread nuggets with two types of butter were delicious. We had been here before but this visit the service was slow. We were not in a hurry so that didn't really matter. We had appetizers that were plentiful and good. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.

“Low key seafood, great location”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

This is off the beaten path and with the road construction...follow the signs. Traditional coastal seafood in a low key setting. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. The place is neat, but the setting is a great backwater low country spot. They aren't quick to answer their phone in the afternoons and don't take reservations until after 8pm...which makes gambling to hike out there with a group a challenge.

“Great Expectations”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

Based on what we read, we were expecting a nice dinner. When we found the parking lot, it was busy. Our hopes were strengthened. When we first walked in the door, we were greeted with a nice welcome. We were then sat down, and as we sat down our experience went with it. The table cloths haven't been updated since the 90's. It was one of those easy wipe table cloths you would find at a Chucky Cheese. The booth seat was ripped. With the prices they are charging, they should have more than enough money to afford half way decent table cloths or just forgo using them. They should be able to repair a ripped seat at a booth. This wasn't a recent rip either, it was at least 6 inches long. We were able to look this over. Of course somethings are just a little rough. You can't expect everything to be perfect. Then they handed us the menus. They were paper. You get decent menus at your corner pub, why can't a restaurant of this claimed caliber have decent menus? Once again, we were willing to look this over. We ordered our first drinks. They came out with a decent wait time. They were made decently. That was their only saving grace. I understand they were busy. but the waitress should be more attentive. It felt like she looked at us and judged us before we ever ordered. By the end of the night she almost made an admission of this with a comment she made. Now onto the food. For the price maybe they should invest in actual rice, and not something that taste like "Uncle Ben's." The food was not stone cold, but it was not warm either. My wife's food was half warm and the rest cold. The fries were cold. Now onto my second drink. I am not an expert in mixing drinks, but I do know when they aren't mixed right. When it got to the table, I could see that it hadn't even been mixed. The ice was already half melted. We are not snobs, but it felt like we got snubbed by this restaurant. Even though it was recommended by a local, I don't think I would ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will stick to my fish camps back home for fresher tasting fish and at a better price. On a plus side the view was decent.

“A Hidden Treat”
Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

We should have called first to verify directions. Our first attempt took us to a road closed for repair. We thought that they may not be open. We called and got directions to get around the closed road. What a hidden treat. It's right on the marsh with panoramic views from inside. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The whole experience was excellent.

“Amazing view. Not local seafood.”
Reviewed 29 March 2014 via mobile

The view is spectacular, and most tables are positioned to take advantage of it. The food was delicious, but did not appear to be locally sourced.
