Had spent 3 nights over Christmas & what a terrific time we had! went with another couple that had been there before, we were so pleased & will be back in same room! Outside patio all our own, spacious room, fireplace to add warmth & romance. We loved the escape to Savannah Georgia & the Foley house topped the cake!

Room Tip: room 135 i think...downstairs king size bed....

My husband and I went to Savannah to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We stayed in Savannah two nights. The first night we stayed at the Ballastone Inn but since they were booked for our second night, we moved over to the Foley Inn for the 2nd night. The Foley Inn was OK but not impressive. We had just come from the Ballastone Inn which was wonderful with no detail overlooked. The Foley Inn does not pay attention to the details which contributes to the overall experience. The carpets are dirty. The glass shelves in the sitting rooms are dusty. The hearth in front of the fire place has not been cleaned in a while. At tea time, there was no hot water or cups for the tea, we had to go find some. In the evening when the port was available there were no wine glasses to pour it in. Our room was #306 which is behind the main building. The room was ordinary. The bathroom needed painting. The shower was excellent as the water pressure was great. Breakfast was a slight disappointment. One of the options was two eggs any style. I ordered scrambled eggs. The chef did not know how to prepare scrambled eggs, as they were more like 2 fried eggs that were then scrambled. The stay was pleasant but not fabulous.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at out property and I do appreciate you letting us know where we fell short. There is no excuse for not having glasses and cups out and available and I have informed everyone to be more attentive to that as well as our dusty shelves.

I agree with you that the details are important. From our full service breakfast to our afternoon sweets and tea to our evening wine and Hors d’Oeuvres we try to make every guest's stay special. We don't charge extra for any of our services as other inns do. That's a detail that everyone likes. I am sorry that your eggs were not scrambled to your satisfaction. I am sure our chef India would have been happy to prepare them exactly as you wished had you let us know. We are always happy to make something special if requested.

I checked the carriage house room you stayed in and I think I agree that the bathroom needs a touch-up. Thank you for pointing that out and it will be addressed. Our carriage house was built in the 1980s and while very comfortable, they do not have the same historic charm as the rooms in our main house that was built in 1860. However I do not agree that they are "ordinary". They are special like all of our rooms. Just a bit more modest. We have very clear photos and videos of all of our rooms on our website. With every room you still have full use of our entire property and our wonderful staff and outstanding location. I do hope you had a wonderful anniversary here in Savannah.

This is a great dog friendly inn in a central location.
We stayed the weekend after Christmas for 2 nights with our Standard Poodle in one of the first floor rooms. The room was lovely, as was the inn, the bed was comfortable and the sweets at tea were excellent. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our stay in Savanna memorable. The location was perfect for exploring the sites.
We had a middle of the night visitor in our room on our last night. It was quite scary and the dog kept an eye out the rest of the night with us:) glad he didn't return,
Highly recommended.

We were visiting Savannah for the first time and what a lovely experience we had at the Foley House Inn with our dog, Angel, for the Christmas holiday! The staff was awesome and had so much information and attended to our every need! Chuck, was indeed the most helpful in finding us places to eat and visit. Also, setting up an excellent breakfast every a.m., along with wonderful treats and tea in the beautiful lounge area by the fireplace every afternoon. Must admit that the "wine time" with appetizers everyday also made it more than a place to visit, but offered the best of everything! All of the rooms were clean, beautiful and more than you would expect from a B&B and a dog friendly area with a lovely park to walk around and sight see with your beloved pet. Thank you to all of the staff at The Foley House Inn as we will surely be back to visit again! Sincerely, Shuri Sheppard and Michael Smith, along with Angel, our beautiful dog!

Room Tip: Depending on the size they have private patios for breakfast with your pet outside by the water foun...

We found this inn by default after much researching and reading reviews of other B&B's and hotels in Savannah. So glad we did! I am particular and found this to be an excellent choice. The location is perfect; central in the historic district, a block from the theater and restaurants, and just minutes from River St. We stayed 4 nights and were in a 4th floor room. Yes, we felt the stairs. But it was QUIET. Temperature control was easy. The room was clean and as we would expect for a building this age. The Christmas decorations added to the already lovely decor. We did not expect to be offered food and drink 3 times a day; breakfast was good (we've had better, we've had far worse), afternoon tea and sweets were scrumptious, and evening wine and appetizers served as dinner for us twice. The staff was wonderful and attentive to the needs of us as guests in this beautiful home. Do not skip this place just because it is pet-friendly. We would not have even known had we not met a couple coming in once. The pluses far outweigh for us what would have been a negative.

Room Tip: We stayed in 402/Grimthorp. It's up 2 long flights of stairs; not for those who are less able to...

Lots of character and charm in the historic district. The staff is amazing, and so helpful, you really do feel like you're staying in someone's home. The inn is totally dog friendly which was extremely important for me and is hard to find most places. Excellent value too, with the size of the rooms and breakfast

My husband and I and our two golden retrievers had another fantastic stay at the Foley House Inn. This was our third stay at Foley and it feels like visiting an old friend. Everyone is so welcoming and personable. Chuck, Christine, and Katie were all very friendly and helpful during our stay. The Clawson Room is wonderful. It is huge, great when you are traveling with 2 dogs. We love having access to the outdoor patios. Fireplace is always a nice touch and beds are so comfortable we had no trouble falling asleep after each day walking the city and beaches. And the food, oh my goodness, the food is absolutely wonderful. Between the afternoon sweets and tea, the wine and appetizers, and the awesome breakfasts - the food is the best we had during our entire trip. India and all the ladies in the dining room do a great job! Thanks again for a wonderful trip and we hope to see you all again soon.
