We travel frequently and this is one of the best places we have ever stayed (and that includes the Grove Park Inn). I will echo the praises of Jason. He is the most attentive innkeeper we have ever had the pleasure to meet. All of the staff are quite pleasant and helpful, but Jason is on a mission to make your stay carefree and the best it can be. Parking can be a problem anywhere in Savannah, so if you find a spot close ( we were lucky to find one behind the inn) lock it up and don't drive again. Take a pedicab or a romantic horse carriage if your destination is beyond your walking tolerance. The inn is beautiful and well appointed and fronts on a very nice square. Breakfast was good, but I agree it could use a little more variety. Afternoon snacks are excellent. Beautiful , private courtyards in the rear are perfect getaways this time of year. We will be back same time next year.

Your trip to Savannah would not be the same without staying at the Foley House. I will tell you that the brekfasts are delicious, the staff is great, and the room is elegant sothern style, with a splash of home for your enjoyment.

One of the best places to stay in Savannah.

Never having been to Savannah, and always having wanted to visit, I chose the Foley House Inn for a few reasons: location, history, supposed luxury. While the location was wonderful--we walked everywhere--the place itself shows a bit of wear that reduces the sense of luxury. And while I understand that old houses are, well, old . . . Foley House looks as if it might be due for another facelift. I also did not find the breakfast foods particularly appetizing, nor was the service especially friendly. Not unfriendly, but not warm, either.

I agree with many of the reviews that warn about the parking situation, too. We were extremely lucky to find a place near the hotel, and as it was the weekend, we were not subject to the regular rigors of street parking rules. We didn't move the car the whole time; I can't imagine what a pain it would have been if we'd had to.

Our room itself was spacious, and our bathroom in particular was huge. We also had a small balcony, but it didn't have much by way of a view. In the end, though, since we were out a lot of the time, it didn't end up making a difference. I think if one wants luxury and romance in Savannah, one could probably do a bit better than Foley House. The central location, though, was great for sightseeing.

location of foley house is fantastic - it is situated in the heart of the historic difference and you can walk just about anywhere in Savannah from here. Jason is excellent - nothing is too much trouble for him whether it be a restaurant recommendation, your cases up the stairs or a chat in the afternoon as you enjoy the oh so heavenly cakes an pastries. A very welcoming inn with a feel of home - the 'parlour' is the social hub where you can read or chat to other residents and learn where they have been too.

The rooms are lovely and with a view over the square from our balcony this was even better.

I would recommend this to anyone - food great too how could I forget!

We stayed for a fall weekend and could not have picked a better place. The staff was friendly from minute one - offering to walk out to our car to carry bags to the rooms. We brought our dog - paid a small fee - and were given a room in the lowest level where pets are allowed. These rooms had access to a back door for walking the dog. The breakfast was great, not to mention the snacks and wine throughout the day. The staff helped us with restaurants and things to do. They spread out the maps and started showing us all the wonderful things of the town. We walked to everything, never moving our car. We will defintely stay here again.

Wanting a place that was centrally located so we could walk, we chose the Foley House. Fantastic location in town by the way, we never moved our car. They have NO parking so be prepared to fight for a parking place on the street. The staff was terrific, super friendly and very accommodating. We saw the owner (we had to ask Gina if that was him) but he never introduced himself to us, nor to any guest that we saw. Our room and the bathroom were very spacious and clean at check-in. The bed was super comfortable. Although housekeeping cleaned our room each morning, they neglected to clean the toilet during our entire stay. We ran out of soap and shampoo (it was never replenished). One morning our dirty bathroom drinking glasses weren't replaced. The carpet under our bed was dusty, it's dark and it was obvious that it hadn't been vacuumed (because there isn't a bedskirt). Because of the height of the bed and the large post at the foot of the bed, the television was very difficult to see and you can't watch the TV from where the chairs are positioned. Breakfast was our biggest disappointment. There were always two choices. Our first morning was pancakes or eggs. We choose the eggs. The next few mornings both choices were only eggs which was disappointing because we would have ordered the pancakes the first morning if we had known eggs would be our only choice the next few mornings. The first morning we also had a small fresh fruit cup. The next few mornings, no fruit but a bisquit or muffin instead (which were dry and not that good). All of our breakfasts came with sausage (3 or 4 pieces of kielbasa), no bacon. Afternoon snacks and wine and cheese were a nice touch. The location is excellent and Gina and Jason were awesome. We'd probably stay here again but we'd also leave the option open to checking out another Inn too.
