“Really Great Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2007

My husband and I stayed at the Foley House Inn for a weekend in April and had a wonderful time. The Inn was beautifully decorated and redolent with historical charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful, full of great suggestions for meals and other local suggestions and the complimentary breakfast was a lovely way to start the day, particularly when it was warm enough to sit in the one of the gardens. The room and bed were very comfortable, almost too nice to leave. As the Inn is centrally located in the Historic District a car wasn't at all necessary. All in all it was a perfect place to spend a relaxed and carefree weekend.

My husband and I had the opportunity to visit Savannah for a long weekend in mid-April and chose the Foley Inn due to its central location within the historic district and its reputation as one of America's most romantic inns. The Foley did not disappoint. The dual parlor rooms are extremely welcoming. Its location just off Chippewa Square makes for an easy walk around the historic district as well as to the Waterfront. Additionally, they offer a great cocktail hour, which provides a unique opportunity to socialize with other guests and plan your evening.

The Inn is absolutely stunning, from the outside through the inside. We stayed in the Easton Lodge and it was a spectacular room overlooking the square. The King size bed was terrific for lounging, and the electric fireplace was wonderful. Even better was waking up to the pitter patter of the horse hooves in the morning during the guided tours.

Grant and Allisen, the inn keepers, and their staff were wonderful. From the delicious breakfasts to their recommendations for lunch, dinner and other great Savannah haunts (Pinky Master's)! We will definitely stay at the Foley Inn during our next visit, and we look forward to spending even more time exploring beautiful Savannah.

We just returned from an extended weekend in Historic Savannah Ga. and what a stay it was. We started out in NYC and already we were told our plane was delayed so we would not be getting in until after midnight. I called the Foley Inn and was greeted with a friendly and informative representative who told me where my key would be with a detailed description of how to find my room. He also offerred to have a taxi cab ready and waiting for us when we arrived.

Location, Location, Location.. right in the middle of the Historic District.. in fact the Foley Inn was even mentioned on one of our tours!

We were on the ground level in a good sized room with our own private garden which allowed us to open the door whenever we were in the room. Breakfast was amazing with 3 choices and at least one different choice every day. and best of all - you had the choice of staying inside or eating outside in the garden. Staff was super friendly with any request we had.

Off to see some sights- the "concierge" was most helpful in getting us telephone numbers and directions to where we wanted to go as well as other suggestions.

Time for cake and tea- every afternoon we were served various sweets and tea - delicious.

Then time for wine and snacks.. wow I have never been so pampered.

All around an amazing time and I would suggest this Inn to anyone interested in staying in a traditional, well run, amazingly located Inn in Savannah.

I had never been to Savannah; I was surprised, it had more to offer than I anticipated. The Foley House was the perfect way to experience the city. Amenities and service at the Inn were outstanding. It is also perfectly located in the center of everything. I will definitely make a return trip to The Foley House.

The Foley House is a "must stay at place" while in Savannah. It was everything we wanted to experience in this very historical Bed and Breakfast Inn while visiting one of the countries most historical cities. From Newark, NJ, it was only a 2 1/2 hour plane ride, perfect for a long getaway weekend. The Foley House is situated on one of the many beautiful squares Savannah has to offer and was originally two single-family mansions. The charm and spirit of these mansions still carry on which can be seen in the eloquent furnishings---from the oriental rugs, oil paintings and antique furniture throughout, to the comfortable sitting parlours, to the enchanted gourmet breakfasts in the private garden patio with water fountain. Most of all, rooms had very comfortable beds, very clean bathrooms, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. An added bonus was that the rooms all have brick fireplaces that are gas which you can conveniently turn off and on. . . which really added to the romance of the place! Our room was on the 4th floor and also had access to a lovely balcony with a wicker chair and table set where my husband and I just relaxed and took in the fresh Savannah air! Definitely worth checking out their "get away" packages on their website.

The Foley House was the most wonderful part of our vacation. We especially appreciated the service of the staff. They were friendly and went out of their way to find places, print maps and make our stay worry free. Also the room was just magnificent! We loved the wonderful breakfast, waking up to the smell of coffee, the warm brownies in the afternoon and the cocktail hour where we met some really nice guests. We think the Foley House is remarkable and would love to return.

My wife and I fell in love with the city of Savannah, so we wanted to stay our last night of our honeymoon in the historic district. We had heard great things about the Foley House Inn, so we decided to drop in and take a look for ourselves. We were given a complete tour of the Inn by Keith. We were shown the open rooms available and the entire inn with it's beautiful courtyards and gracious ammenties. After visiting the inn, we later called back and booked a room with a private entrance located downstairs.

When we arrived, we were able to check in nearly two hours ahead of the regular time. We were taken to the room that we were to stay in. To our dismay, it wasn't the room we remembered being shown the day before. We were under the impression that we had a different room when we booked the room over the phone. We had wanted a very romantic place and it wasn't just what we had anticipated, although the room was beautiful and elegant.

The staff was very accomidating in the fact that this was our last night of our honeymoon and we wanted something very romantic for our stay. We were given a complementary-upgrade to the best room in the house (which happened to be available!!) at no charge.

We stayed in 104 Essex. This room was fantastic!! The room had a huge four-post king sized bed that was so comfortable you felt like you were sleeping on a cloud! The room had two (2)fireplaces, two (2) separate sitting areas, a desk work area and a very nice bathroom with a jaccuzi, neo-angle shower and equipped with beautiful bathrobes. Our room faced the beautiful Chippewa square. Every thing you could ever ask for in a room was there.

Breakfast. Fantastic. The wait staff took care of our every need. We had the chef's special. Home-made Belgium waffles, country sausage, fruit with juice, water and coffee. We ate in the parlor, listening to very romantic music. Check out was a breeze, but it was difficult leaving because we had such a fantastic time there. We loved it so much, we are planning to return as soon as possible.

If you're staying in Savannah, visit the Foley House Inn on Hull Street. It's located in Chippewa square, with easy access to all the sites associated with the historic district. It'a a beautiful town and a great place to stay.
