“Great location, friendly staff, and beautiful room!”
Reviewed 10 February 2011

My husband and I live near Savannah and came to the Kehoe House to have a romantic weekend together. The staff and food were great. It was so nice to have a delicious breakfast in bed as a way to start the day. Our room had a fabulous porch on the third floor overlooking one of the squares in Savannah. It was so romantic sitting on the porch with our wine watching the carriage rides pass by. We would highly recommed this bed and breakfast to anyone looking for a romantic time!

The Kehoe House is an historic building (late 1800s) on a quiet square in old Savannah. One of six properties run by a partnership, it operates more like a small hotel than a B&B. Spacious rooms, bell service, free afternoon tea and afternoon wine and cheese, gracious public rooms and very helpful staff. The only negative, and not a big one, was the loud heating system, which was on because it was unusually cold in Savannah that night.

We had a excellent stay in the John Wesley suite on the 2nd floor. Very quiet stay in a clean room. The staff was helpful in arranging post wedding photo ops at the B&B. Halie was a exceptional host that went out of her way several times to make sure our stay was perfect. Savaanah south charm at it's finest. We hope to stay here again on a return trip to Savannah.

This is a very old house with a lots of history that has been nicely preserved. The house is located right in the middle of the north historic district. It used to be a funeral home within 2 decades ago and thus many consider it haunted. You can easily walk anywhere around the historic district from this house. River street, historic homes, parks, nice restaurants, convenience stores, bars, etc are all within a 10 minute walk of the house. We stayed in the John Wesley room on the 2nd floor which was very cozy and comfortably large. The staff is very friendly and ready to help you find places to go, make reservations for you. The breakfast menu had a lot of variety and the food was great! The wine and snacks in the evening was a plus along with the coffee/tea and snacks in the afternoon.

The Kehoe House was a wonderful place to stay for our first trip to Savannah. The staff there are warm and inviting, just like the house. Our room, Tybee Island, was absolutely beautiful. Hardwood floors, a lovely wardrobe, and a cushy bed to snuggle down in. Although our room didn't have a balcony attached, there was one right next to our room. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the nightly wine and cheese offered by the Kehoe on the balcony. The location of the Kehoe couldn't be better. Right on Columbia Square, it's only a few minutes walk to River Street.

If you are inspired by beautiful antiques, gorgeous architecture or a love of history, you will be enchanted with the Kehoe House. The house itself is amazing, but is not to be outdone by the customer service provided by the staff. Our every need was attended to with true southern hospitality. Monica, the evening concierge, went out of her way to provide excellent service. Her willingness to provide information, friendliness & genuine warmth made us feel like honored guests. In fact, we were treated better at the Kehoe House than at a five star hotel in the south of France. Breakfast is made to order & was delicious. In addition, the chef came into the dining room to make sure that everything was cooked as we wanted. In the late afternoon wine, cheese & desserts were laid out tastefully. Our room was large & elegantly decorated in the fashion of the late 1800's, but with every modern convenience. The house is, simply put , magnificent & the service was exemplary. The Kehoe House is a true gem - don't miss it!

Stayed at the Kehoe House and just can't figure out why it is rated so high.Very disappointed. Lovely home, but I am sure there are plenty of others nearby with more to offer. Rooms were nice and large, but dusty. Small T.V's, Soaps, shampoos etc, nothing special and a little stingy, just basic, never refilled. Turn down service was nice but if you were in your room and didn't want to be bothered, they didn't come back later when you were out for the night. It was now or never! They did leave 2 cookies. The morning and afternoon help were unfriendly, rude and no help, especially Shamika. However, the evening gal and guy were polite and helpful, always was a cheerful greeting. Morning and afternoon help ignored you, seemed as though we were a bother to them. Never smiled. Breakfast was unorganized and very messy. The coffee carafes are always empty, the table was always dirty or sticky and most of the time there wasn't enough seating. They did not supply sugar free syrups. We had just finished our breakfast meal, digesting our food but enjoying the company of the other guests, abruptly the hired help told us to leave the table because they needed the room/seating for other guests who hadn't eaten yet. If you have 13 rooms and the capacity of at least 26 guests... why wouldn't they have at least 26 available seatings for their guests who have paid a high price for this B & B?
The breakfast is included in your stay but you must request your order the night before. That morning, I had a temptation for bacon but did not order it on my request. I asked the unfriendly help if possible to get an order of bacon. She replied, the cook did not make any extra for the day. What if someone ordered bacon and it fell on the floor.... would they pick it up or just tell them... sorry we filled our limit! No one went beyond their limit to satiisfy us. After checking out and paying our bill, Shamika didn't ask if we needed help carrying our bags down. There was no "Thank You" or "Hope you enjoyed your stay".
Still wondering why this B & B gets such a great rating????
