“Thoroughly Enjoyed Our Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2011

We stayed here on Saturday, December 3 for one night only. Several things stood out to us, making our stay really special. First, they offer online check in, with a kiosk follow-up once you get to the hotel. No lines, no waiting - just a quick swipe and we were all set. The room had an amazing view and was very clean. Comfy bed! We ordered late night room service. The person who brought it up could not have been sweeter and the food was yummy. In the morning, we decided to try their buffet breakfast. Perfect choice! This was not your average hotel buffet. They offered really yummy bakery items, a cheese and fruit platter that was so different, so delicious. Yogurt parfaits, omelet and waffle station, gorgeous sausages and bacon - it was all there. All of this at a really reasonable price. That sent us off from the hotel in a very positive way. Would definitely stay here again!

The Hyatt Regency Savannah has an awesome location in the heart of the historic district, right on the bank of the Savannah River, within walking distance of major sites, shopping, and great restaurants. The main entrance of the hotel is on Bay Street right next to City Hall. The other side of the hotel is on River Street.

We enjoyed The Factors Walk right outside of the hotel, and we we’re able to walk to great restaurants including Huey’s on River Street (half a block away) for beignets, fried green tomatoes, parmesan garlic grits, and seafood crepes, Leopold’s Ice Cream (picked #5 in the world by the Toronto Sun. See http://savannahnow.com/exchange/2011-07-13/leopolds-ice-cream-picked-number-five-world#.TuVOpLJFu7s), Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room for home-cooked southern cooking (go early), Lulu’s Chocolate Bar, Noble Fare, and The Olde Pink House,

We came into town for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. The hotel is right next to a stop for The Savannah Belle Ferry Company to take us across the river to the marathon expo. The hotel provided a very good pasta meal the night before the marathon. The starting line of the race was right out the front door, so we could stay in comfort of the hotel until the last minute before the race! We felt like VIPs. It was an easy walk from the finish line in Forsyth Park back to the hotel.

The staff was very accommodating, from the front desk (thank you Patricia Bryant), to the pleasant concierges that gave us tour information and helped with reservations, to the doormen and the maids. We will stay here again the next time we’re in town, even if it’s not for the marathon.

I stayed here for a conference and had a great experience. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk staff to housekeeping. The rooms were clean and we had a nice view of the river. The location was perfect- you could walk down to river street behind the hotel, or go out the front doors and walk straight down historic Bull Street all the way to Forsyth Park.

Stayer here one night, December 8, 2011 in room 646 (a corner room looking over historical district and Savannah River) while on a trip to the low country of South Carolina and Georgia. Rate was $129.00 plus tax. Parking was $19 per day and internet was $10.00 per day. Extra charges are typical for a Hyatt hotel. This is an older property, ugly from the outside as it does not match the local architecture but in good condition. Room was clean, comfortable bed, stuffed lounge chair, desk, flat screen TV (cable was very limited and no HD). Allowed us to check out late without extra charge. Every single person on the staff that we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful, it seemed they enjoyed their job and wanted to be helpful. Forget the restaurant as the menu was very limited and food was bland. Since everything in the historical district is with in walking distance from the hotel, go out to find food. Would stay here again!

Stayed at the hotel in May for weekend getaway with the family. Had good experience in the lounges and room service. The location is great with many nightlife options close to the hotel (within walking distance)

Room Tip: request a riverview room!

The location could not be better, and the entire staff is determined to make you feel welcome. Everyone we came into contact with was extremely polite and helpful. Beautiful, comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: River view was truly a great river view, right on the water.

I travel frequently and I would have to say that the staff of this hotel have the best customer service that I have experienced this year. Had an issue with my room and shared my experience with the manager ( Zach). Not onlyh did he change my room, but he upgraded my to a suite and he had the bellman( Nate) to move all of my belongings. I am so sure this hotel has to be owned by the Ritz. Also, I went to the "Vu" ( the hotel lounge) and had an awesome salad. My waitress "Z" ( can't say or spell her name) was super awesome! Lastly-the hotel is on River Street so you are in the midst of all the restaraunts and happenings. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for an "outside" Suite.
