We chose this wonderful hotel after looking at reviews of many. It was important to us to be in walking distance of the historic sites and lovely neighborhoods. We chose it based on location, price and reviews. It was everything we could have wanted. Right downtown, just a couple blocks from the river and the perfect location for walking through the neighborhoods and parks. The room was small as we expected in an old hotel but it was very nicely decorated and efficient. The breakfast was great! This was not your basic cereal and bagel option; each day we had quiche or an egg dish and many other options. The wine and cheese each day was a real bonus. It was a wonderful break in a day of nonstop site seeing. We will be back! Thank you to the excellent, friendly staff.

We stayed just one night, but loved this beautifully restored hotel from the mid 1800's. The décor is quite lovely with a very nice sitting area in the lobby. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

We had a petite queen room that was small, but quite comfortable and very clean. The ceiling is very tall and our window overlooked the courtyard area. The bathroom had a large shower and large pedestal sink.

The breakfast courtyard was another pleasant surprise with a good continental breakfast available to guests. There were some freshly made scrambled eggs, but that was the only hot item offered. I had read that quiche was served for breakfast, but there was none offered the morning of our stay.

We felt very comfortable after dark walking a couple of blocks down the street to find a light supper.

We stayed at this lovely hotel on our way to Disney World. We were greeted by the valet staff and that set the pace for the rest of our stay with the staff. Our check in was easy and quick and the staff super nice.
The first thing you notice walking in is the old feel to the place, you can see the history and on our way to our room it was amazing and cool how the old wood floors were uneven from decades of settling. It just added to the old world charm the hotel embraces. What I loved even more was that these floors continued into our guest room. The décor was very pleasant and refreshing.
The icing on the cake was that I left my prescription glasses by mistake in our room and didn't realize I had left them till that evening when we had checked into our Disney hotel. We called first thing the next morning and the front desk took down a description and my contact number. A few days later I received a phone call that my glasses had been found and would be returned to me.
I can't say enough nice things about the place and the staff. They truly take pride in their work.

We stayed one night at Marshall House. The price was very competitive considering the excellent location right on the main street. The hotel has a colorful history serving as a military hospital during the civil war, which you can read about on the walls of the corridors, or you can ask the doorman who will cheerfully regale you with some stories that won't exactly lull you to a gentle sleep. Having said that I had no problem sleeping at all, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully decorated. The rooms were a reasonable size with stripped floorboards and cosy rugs. The cheese and wine hour is a nice touch and the breakfast was varied and delicious. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is in a good location between the river and the park.

The people from front desk to breakfast team are very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the Valet.

Nice clean room, a little small by US standards but more than adequate and had character.

We would recommend.
