Had a wonderful one night stay. Our room was not big but was well laid out and comfortable with a good size bathroom. The staff is truly southern cordiality. We had a pleasant drink at the bar before dinner and a better than expected dinner at 45 Bistro. The buffet breakfast had a nice selection except for the scrambled eggs which had been sitting too long and were cold and hard. We would definitely go back if we return to Savannah.

My review my sound more negative than I want it to because it is a lovely old inn. However, there were three of us for a girls' weekend and we elected to stay in a suite. If the room had looked like the pictures it would have been fine, but the room (209) was small and dark and no door separating the two areas. Perhaps we should have asked about that but never had that issue before. One side of the room overlooked an alley and the other overlooked the courtyard which was attractive but at night noisy until 10:30 or so from various hosted events. Perhaps that is a normal time to end an event but it was hard to relax in our room. The folks at the desk were nice, the included continental breakfast a cut above, their restaurant excellent, but there was no place to really sit and relax outside of our room as the small lobby was generally crowded when we wanted to use it. So it was OK but I would not stay there again unless I had a room with a balcony on the front street that I had viewed before staying. However, the locations was great. (I accidentally marked terrible for pool and fitness center but there wasn't any.

Room Tip: Ask if there is a quiet room with a balcony.

Couldn't be happier. From the moment we arrived, service was super. Lovely accommodations, close to the historic district, within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. Special kudos for Maurice and Joseph. If you are in Savannah, do yourself a favor and consider the Marshall House for your lodging needs.

This is a place where you are remembered and welcomed each time you walk through the door. It is a great place to return to, the wine and cheese cocktail afternoons was lovely. We walked everywhere, crossing squares off our map as we walked through them. Breakfast is included and was a full breakfast, eggs, quiche, fruit, bagels, muffins and pastries. We had a room with a balcony so enjoyed relaxing early evenings watching e happenings on the street below. Loved learning the rich history of The Marshall House. The bar makes a great drink!

Room Tip: It was so worth it to have a balcony room!
