“Lovely old hotel with Soutern charm.”

The Marshall House has lots of old Southern charm. The restaurant was wonderful with the best grouper I have ever had. The rooms are old but large and show signs of wear but clean. We could climb out our very large window to sit on the wonderful old porch on the second floor. The staff offered Southern hospitality at it's best. I can't wait for my next visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the valet parking, historic comfort and prime location of this hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful. Tey recommended Blur Orb Tours for our ghost tour, The Old Pink House for dinner and Seed for drinks....all bullseyes. The charm and comfort is amazing and they have ghosts! what more do you need? Definetely recommend.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the beautiful Marshall House. The staff could not have been nicer, super accomodating and very nice and fast!! The morning breakfast was wonderfully abundant. And the location was just awesome, so close to everything!!

The hotel is old, but that is part of its charm! The room and common areas were absolutely spotless, very, very clean and for an old hotel I heard surprisingly little noise.

The flat screen was a very nice surprise and the bathroom was just lovely!

The only issue I had was that the room was super small, no desk (no room for one). Just be aware, as I was not prepared for how small the room was, the pictures painted a more roomy picture.

Stayed in Savannah one night during a road trip. We knew we would be heading through Savannah so checked up a few reviews on trip advisor and Marshall House ticked all the boxes - happily, after staying here it lived up to my expectations.

Location : The location is great being within the historic section of the city and a few blocks away from the water front and many bars / restaurants and shops. The area is great for walking around especially taking a break in one of the many tree lined squares dotted throughout the area.

Rooms : Our room although small was comfortable and clean providing us with a great base to explore the city. The beds were turned down during the evening and mints left on the pillow which is always a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and we had no complaints. The hotel wifi didn't reach our room which was a shame but the coffee maker, iron and tv were all there for our use.

Staff: Reception staff were friendly and organised a room for us very quickly. The concierge was also really helpful and gave advice on where we should go and what to see during our short stay.

Additional : Parking garage is a short distance from the hotel or valet parking is available (the option we chose). Both seemed a bit steep to us especially as the hotel rooms are also fairly expensive but I found the costs pretty standard for this area of Savannah.

I would recommend staying for the great location and friendly staff - Savannah is a really great place I just wish we had longer there.

The room was spotless, the bed was one of the most comfortable ever with luxurious and spotless sheets, and the bathroom was clean. The public areas were nicely decorated, well-maintained, and clean. The continental breakfast was wonderful, especially the biscuits and the quiche. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping and turn-down service was right on. The hotel's location is good, too.

You can't go wrong with the Marshall House. Great location and staff. Standard king bed room was a little small but okay for a couple of nights, upgrade to a suite if you like more room. Staff was very helpful. Enjoyed the evening wine and cheese service and morning expanded breakfast. Loved the history of this building. If you're afraid of the rumor that it's haunted, we didn't experience anything except our alarm clock going off by itself the first morning but I don't think it was a ghost.

Traveling from Illinois, we stopped at a Holiday Express in Chattanooga then on to Savannah. While we love Savannah, the hotel in TN was more luxurious and much much less expensive. Well, location is everything and you pay for it; however, this hotel was overpriced - the reason being: A/C was way too loud, room smelled very musty, the room had just a few towels and toiletries, no fan in the bathroom, no room service, noisey, and the King Executive Room was much smaller than the afore mentioned regular King in TN. The best part of our stay was the incredibly comfortable bed and the parisian patio (we enjoyed our coffee there in the a.m.). The staff couldn't be nicer and gave us good advice about parking - forego the parking charge and park on the street - free on the weekends. Location of this hotel is on the far east side of Bay street and on the cusp of the Housing Projects which are just a few blocks south; so, not in the middle of the 'strip' per se. We have stayed in the other HI Express on Bay which IS in the middle of the action and it was much better (and more economical).
Also, be sure to ask, if booking Marshall House, whether there is a special event, when we checked in, the hotel had a huge wedding in the lobby (awkward)
