My fiancée and I went to savannah on a weekend getaway, and this was the perfect place to stay. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location. The beds were very comfortable, and our room had a balcony, which would be perfect in the spring. The wine and cheese reception was a nice touch. I look forward to staying at the hotel again the next time I visit savannah.

First of all, a superb value for the money. A cozy room with every necessary amenity. The breakfast (included) was far superior to most breakfasts in similar lodgings. Wine and cheese is provided on nights except Sundays. We were there on a Sunday evening and the obliging staff produced beverage for us. How accommodating! It was quiet and relaxing - I didn't want to leave.

Just returned from our visit to Planter's Inn. It is a beautiful hotel and much bigger than I expected.First impression was very good as we arrived during the wine and cheese reception.
I booked through Priceline, which I've done many times. I was having wine while my husband checked in, and he did not inquire about the bed type. When we arrived at our room, there were twin beds.I told the bag man we wanted a queen, and he said we must have booked through Priceline or similar, and that they give the worst rooms to those who do. I have never heard of this. We have been upgraded many times when we have gotten a discounted room. How you pay should not matter to them if they are selling a room.So my husband called the front desk and asked for a queen, to which they replied we could get one the next day, but they were full Thursday night. I don't believe for a minute that they were full because we never heard or saw a single person on our floor. But okay, tomorrow would be fine.
As many people have said, there is a parking garage right next to the hotel. There is no soundproofing. After we went to bed, the noises started. Yelling and cursing all night long and trucks going by. At 3:00 the dumpsters started getting dumped
, and it sounded like bombing for about an hour.
The next day we were moved to our queen room, which was next door to the other room and identical except for the bed. So 2 more nights of screaming and yelling outside our window. The bath was small but adequate, and it was very clean.
Our last morning we got the bill. We knew that parking was 15.95 per day. Then they added tax and a 100.00 upgrade fee. We were shocked. When my husband went to discuss this charge, the very rude woman at the desk said she had notes that we were told about the upgrade charge. We certainly were not. She finally agreed to split the difference. We would never stay here again.Customer service is horrible. WiFi worked about an hour, and then we couldn't connect again. We didn't have time to call the 800 number.
As much as I hated this hotel, the Pink House next door is fantastic, and the tavern downstairs is so much fun!

Room Tip: If you must stay, please stay across the hall from the garage and as high as possible

We love Savannah and we visit this treasure of city once a year for our Anniversary. There are a lot of great places to stay in Savannah but there is only one place for us and that is The Planters Inn. Why you ask well it is very simple it is centrally located in the historic district, they have a wonderful complimentary breakfast that reflects the region, they have complimentary wine and cheese in the evening, the rooms are very nice and will take you back in time. The staff is 5 star and Karen the hotels concierge was top notch and went out of her way to be helpful and very welcoming to all guests. The hotel sits right next to the historical Olde Pink House which has some of the most amazing food and drink one could wish for. If you can't get a reservation at the Pink House at least visit both of their bars both street level and in the basement. You can order from the menu at both and please make sure you enjoy the entertainment of Miss Diana Rogers in the basement bar she is also a true treasure. One thing that most of the nicer hotels charge for is parking but here is a tip. Do a Google search for "Coupon for Free parking at the Planters Inn Savannah" and you will find a coupon for free parking Sun.-Thurs (a $16.00 a day savings) we use the coupon every visit. The only bad part of the hotel is having to say goodbye so take from us and give the hotel a try I promise you will be glad you did and If your lucky you might see a ghost or two during your stay :) ENJOY!

Room Tip: Let the staff know if it is your anniversary and they will take extra good care of you.

We recently stayed at this Inn for 2 nights and could not be happier with our choice. Karen the Concierge was so pleasant and helpful (got us great reservations, on short notice, for Friday & Saturday night) that she really enhanced our stay. When she found out it was my birthday, she made sure to share the information with the restaurants and sent up a special treat to our room. The Inn is lovely, the room very comfortable, the (free) breakfast more than adequate, the evening wine & cheese with lovely piano music relaxing, and the staff phenomenal! Patrick at the check-in desk talked us in after Siri directions took us to the other side of town, Linda at the front desk gave us a great lunch recommendation ("B.Matthews") and the bell staff were delightful. This is a well run Inn with wonderful staff. Make this one of your stops in Savannah and you will not be sorry!

Stayed here for 3 nights in November. As they don't have king size beds we had opted for singles. Our first impression on arrival was positive and remained so for the duration of our stay. The front desk people, the Concierge and porters were very professional and courteous at all times. Complimentary wine and cheese in the lobby each evening was very pleasant and a great way to meet other guests. Our room with the single beds was very tastefully furnished and the beds extremely comfortable. Storage space in the room was very good.

We found the breakfasts to be very good although cheeseburgers and grits were something we did not acquire a taste for. The laundry service provided by the Planters was first class.

The Planters is very centrally located in the historic District of Savannah and we would certainly stay there again.
