The entire staff at this hotel were amazing.A big thank you to Happy ( not kidding, actual name) for all her help in selecting the best package deal available.Package included $25 certificate to the Olde Pink House restaurant, carriage ride for 2, free valet parking,Planters Inn blanket, wine and cheese each evening and expanded continental breakfast each morning.
Once we gave our car to the valet we never used it the next 2 days.Hotel is 2 blocks to the historic River Walk and walking distance to most everything you need to see.
Room was good and had 2 Queen beds.It served its purpose. We would go back.

You can't get more centrally located than this comfortable, hospitable place in Savannah. Not only were the beds comfortable and the rooms sparkling clean, but the free breakfast was more than ample, the staff friendly and helpful, and the evening wine and cheese a delightful way to end daylight and fortify for an evening out. Very glad we stayed.

We booked this hotel to stay in the heart of downtown to allow my wife and I to walk around and take in the Savannah history. The staff is great. They are extremely hospitable and very friendly. We had an opportunity to try and find an open spot on the street to park for free in our weekend stay but opted to pay the $18/day valet fee. This allows you unlimited access to your car but has them park it. A good value for us. The hotel's location is very close to everything you'd want to see including the river walk and countless squares. We opted to take advantage of the discount offered with "Old Savannah Tours" and went on a 90 minute trolley ride. Overall, the stay was quite pleasant because of the staff, nice accommodations, wine & cheese tasting, and central location. The downsides that caused the 4/5 rating were the noise that others have stated and the breakfast. The noise outside at night was surprisingly loud. The people and car noises woke us up a few times. The breakfast was okay. It was included in the room price but the food was lackluster and the layout was awkward and caused those of us trying to partake in the meal, to bump into each other and the temperature in the dining area was excessively high. Still....this was a good stay and we'd stay with them again.

All of the efforts of the outstanding staff, lovely accommodations, and great location can not make up for the noise at night from Congress Street.

The parking garage across the street was the source of partying and/or fighting the first night. We finally contacted the front desk to call the police.

The next night there was screaming in the streets followed by what appeared to be drag racing. Yes, hard to imagine in such a short block.

It appears that most of the rooms overlook Congress, so inquire.

My fiancée and I went to savannah on a weekend getaway, and this was the perfect place to stay. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location. The beds were very comfortable, and our room had a balcony, which would be perfect in the spring. The wine and cheese reception was a nice touch. I look forward to staying at the hotel again the next time I visit savannah.

First of all, a superb value for the money. A cozy room with every necessary amenity. The breakfast (included) was far superior to most breakfasts in similar lodgings. Wine and cheese is provided on nights except Sundays. We were there on a Sunday evening and the obliging staff produced beverage for us. How accommodating! It was quiet and relaxing - I didn't want to leave.

Just returned from our visit to Planter's Inn. It is a beautiful hotel and much bigger than I expected.First impression was very good as we arrived during the wine and cheese reception.
I booked through Priceline, which I've done many times. I was having wine while my husband checked in, and he did not inquire about the bed type. When we arrived at our room, there were twin beds.I told the bag man we wanted a queen, and he said we must have booked through Priceline or similar, and that they give the worst rooms to those who do. I have never heard of this. We have been upgraded many times when we have gotten a discounted room. How you pay should not matter to them if they are selling a room.So my husband called the front desk and asked for a queen, to which they replied we could get one the next day, but they were full Thursday night. I don't believe for a minute that they were full because we never heard or saw a single person on our floor. But okay, tomorrow would be fine.
As many people have said, there is a parking garage right next to the hotel. There is no soundproofing. After we went to bed, the noises started. Yelling and cursing all night long and trucks going by. At 3:00 the dumpsters started getting dumped
, and it sounded like bombing for about an hour.
The next day we were moved to our queen room, which was next door to the other room and identical except for the bed. So 2 more nights of screaming and yelling outside our window. The bath was small but adequate, and it was very clean.
Our last morning we got the bill. We knew that parking was 15.95 per day. Then they added tax and a 100.00 upgrade fee. We were shocked. When my husband went to discuss this charge, the very rude woman at the desk said she had notes that we were told about the upgrade charge. We certainly were not. She finally agreed to split the difference. We would never stay here again.Customer service is horrible. WiFi worked about an hour, and then we couldn't connect again. We didn't have time to call the 800 number.
As much as I hated this hotel, the Pink House next door is fantastic, and the tavern downstairs is so much fun!

Room Tip: If you must stay, please stay across the hall from the garage and as high as possible
