Perfect location, walking distance to so many wonderful things. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge. We had a great view of the river and Reynolds square. If you are coming to Savannah for business or pleasure you will love this hotel.

This hotel is situated in very impressive premises, the lobby is beautifully furnished and the rooms are well furnished with comfortable beds. In all other aspects it is a typical HI product and I do not understand the star rating system but suspect it is the lack of restaurant that prevents the property from having a higher rating. The River St is a few minutes walk and the free shuttle stop just a couple of hundred yards away ....
But:
The breakfast area is very limited and there were guests having to stand to eat.
The bed linen could have been larger and some of the towels were a bit grey.
When we found that our room had not been made up by 3.45 on one day we were told that it was our fault for leaving the 'do not disturb' sign outside before we went out at 10.30. Notwithstanding the fact that the trolley was standing unattended outside the room.Certain reception staff need to understand that it is better not to try to make excuses.
Notwithstanding any of this we would certainly shortlist the property if we were to return

My husband and I visited this great historic area for four days. Found the hotel and staff to be remarkable in assisting us in every endeavor. We asked for a room river side which we received on the 8th floor. We had a marvelous view of the ships coming and going along the waterfront. The fact that the hotel was just one block from the waterfront was wonderful. The hotel location is such that we were able to walk to many of the sights we were interested in seeing. We did use the local trolley service. The hotel surprised us with champaign and chocolates as we were celebrating our anniversary....what an nice and unexpected touch. We definitelly would stay here again and would recommend it to others. You must use their valet service for parking or use outside parking elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river and away from elevators and vending machines.

We have stayed here before and found it to be very convenient to the major sites of this beautiful city. Just across Bay Street from the River Walk with a lovely strolling park and then down steps to the water front. Our room offered a leafy view of the river, park and historic buildings just what you come to see in Savannah. The hotel was clean and our room was fresh with typical Hampton inn amenities. Down side, it was packed. Kids everywhere, well behaved but impossible to use the pool or public spaces. It seemed the hotel of choice for a very large tour of girl scouts! Oh well it is summer and they are getting a good lesson in history. Parking is a problem. The valet service is not efficient and I had to call attention to an employee with attitude about parking. The entrance was blocked with cars waiting to be moved to the garage so you were yelled at to move on. Attitude correction moment took place immediately and courteously. Demand the service you are paying for. The rest was good, free water at the entrance to take with you through the steamy streets of the city. Near many good to g reat restaurants. This city is a must visit and the hotel is good but be ready for lots of people in the summertime.

Room Tip: Floors 5 and above with even room numbers have beautiful river views.

If you want to experience Savannah the right way, this is the place to stay. While it is a little on the expensive side, the location more th made up for it. The waterfront attractions are literally across the street. Everything we did was within walking distance. The staff was very knowledgable and the breakfast was great. Very nice workout room, and the pool is on the rooftop. This would be the perfect place to view the fireworks whenever they shoot them. The only complaint was the the toilet kept running long after being flushed, annoying but not enough to detract from the visit. If we ever come back to Savannah, we'll surely be back!

I want tk say the staff was great and tried to make our stay ok. We used Hilton points at upgraded rates for this special trip. It was impossible to close the drapes so lighf was kept out. They changed ouf room to the second floor which was close to street noises. Not a good situation. They offered another roon but not what wd had reserved.
Positives: Staff was great; valet service great; breakfast ok and location perfect.
GM has offered to refund my points for one night but no result yet
