“Great Hotel and Location”
Reviewed 30 September 2012

We stopped in Savannah on our drive home to NJ from Fl. Checked out Trip Advisor and decided on this hotel based on reviews. We were so pleased with everything about the hotel. Very clean, very charming, nice rooms, friendly staff and includes a good breakfast. The location couldn't have been better. Right across from the river walk, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the city marketplace. Also, reasonably priced. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view if you are on river side of hotel.

We visited Savannah for the first time and I was very nervous about finding a hotel since we were not familiar with the area. We ended up deciding on this hotel based on recommendations from Trip Advisor. When we arrived, we instantly fell in love with this place. The lobby is gorgeous, the staff is super helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and very nice. There were great views, especially from the roof top pool! It is the perfect location, within walking distance of anything you could possibly want to see in the Historic District! Love, love, love this hotel and would definitely stay there again!!!

I had the opportunity to squeeze in a two day getaway here in-between business trips and it was an enjoyable experience. All the staff were helpful and overly friendly - also was nice that many of them had some good local info and restaurant recommendations. There is some great local live music nearby and some amazing restaurants. I would definitely come back again!

We checked into our corner king...worth it. Valet and bell very willing to help and Informative. We took a two minute walk (stopped by red light) to a very wide variety of restaurants and bars. Saw a live performance we randomly found, just a great time and place. We will be coming back

The hotel was supposed to have been updated and renovated, but I didn't see any evidence of that. The room had an outdated feel and the furniture was a bit battered. The decor made the room feel dark and the room could have been cleaned better. There was dust in multiple places and my curtains were ripped and hanging loose. Luckily, the sheets were clean and the bed was comfy, so I was able to sleep. The fitness center was just okay. One of the treadmills was broken and the elliptical was a little jerky in its motions. Rooftop pool seemed nice, although I didn't swim in it. Overall, I'm not sure I would stay here again. The location was prime, but that's about all it had going for it.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn for 4 nights. We had a great handicap room on the 6th floor with a street view, which meant river view also. This is one time I stayed at a hotel that I did not feel ostracized for needing a handicap room. The room was spotless and the bathroom was easy for a handicap person to use. As others have written about noise, we did not hear any noise from the street. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. They gave us some good suggestions for places to eat. And the assistant manager was excellent, always trying to help. One day the breakfast area was crowded and she saw my husband and me walking in and she rushed to clean off a table for us to use. As another writer mentioned the internet and hot breakfast, cookies and fruit plus coffee and tea are free for all guests, as well as water and snacks if you belong to Hilton Honors. This hotel was accessible to everything in the historic district and was situated perfectly. The pool area on the roof is wonderful and the view is terrific.
There is a $20 fee for valet parking, which is rather expensive, but all the hotels charge a fee. But there is street parking if you are lucky enough to find a space without a meter and a city-owned parking facility across the street.
We stayed during the week and the hotel had to change a generator during our stay. This caused very dark elevators but that was quickly fixed with lanterns in the elevators. Also, the internet went out. The free wifi in this hotel was often slow and sometimes non-existant so if you need to rely on wifi internet while you are in Savannah, think twice before booking here, but that is the only complaint we had. Everything else was great and the employees were terrific. We would return to this Hampton Inn again.

Room Tip: Ask for a street view on an upper level, either floor 6 or 7, beautiful view and not noisy.

My husband and I spent three nights at this hotel during our first visit to Savannah. The location was ideal - we were within easy walking distance to all the sights of the historic district as well as the river. We had requested an upper floor room facing the river, which we were graciously given. The view was great - we loved randomly seeing the huge container ships go by our window and the sunsets over the bridge were beautiful. Having said that, we did hear some noise from the street below and were woken up a few times by the noise from late night river area partiers.

We appreciated the little extras the hotel provided - free breakfast, free internet, bottled water and snacks at check-in (for Hilton Honors members), cookies in the lobby every afternoon, coffee/tea/fruit available at all times, towels placed in the lobby on a rainy afternoon, and more.

If you'd like to save some money on parking, there is a 24/7 public parking garage directly across the street from the hotel entrance. We paid less than $25 for our three nights while I believe it would've been $45 plus tips to valet park at the hotel.

Overall, this is a good budget-friendly choice for a great location in Savannah!
